I've gotten a donor Squier to play with... looking to put some '63 Texas style pickups in it and a few other things.

On a site or two I see mentioned that back in the day Fender used 0.01uF or 10nf ceramic disc capacitors, about the size of a dime.

Is there a noticeable difference between using one of those vs a modern one? Audibly noticeable, not one of those deals where on paper there is a difference. If there is... what would the difference be?

Side question... reverse wound pickups... yay? or nay?

Thanks

Welcome to the Forum THRobinson. I have been using new capacitors for all of my guitar/bass guitar projects for the last 9 years and everyone says my guitars sound the best and these are players with other guitars that cost more than all of my gear combined. As far as reverse wound pickups there are some guitar gurus here that can explain those particulars much better than I. Have fun here.
