The Rhinestone Cowboy succumbed to Alzheimer's disease today which he had been suffering for more than 10 yrs.

A true Legend and uber-skilled Player.

Even though we knew it was coming, there's a finality to it when it occurs. At least whatever Demons infested his head are silent now.

Condolences to his Family, Friends and many Fans !!

cheers!

Gutted to hear this. :( RIP, Glen. I really hope they find a cure for Alzheimer's Disease some day. :(

This has to be one of my favorite songs by him, which he also played a Fender VI.

I discovered Glen Campbell at the age of 8, I watched his show every week. He was a hero to me for most of my life (there was a period in the late seventies and early eighties when I was not happy with his behavior)

I am going to miss him a lot.

The documentary his wife did on his farewell tour was heart warming and sad, I'm glad it was done.

We have a lot of younger people here and it dawned on me that they may not fully appreciate Glen's abilities.

This Reverb article, w/ included Youtubes may give many a better understanding of how truly GIANT this player was. Check it out here:

A Tribute to Glen Campbell

cheers!

Excellent article, Lightnin. That was a great introduction for others who aren't familiar with Glen; but, also a great read overall.

Thanks!
