I prefer Birthday over RIP's
Happy Birthday Garth Hudson (born August 2, 1937) organist, keyboardist and saxophonist for Canadian-American rock group the Band, he was a principal architect of the group's unique sound. Classically trained in piano, music theory, harmony and counterpoint,
Hudson wrote his first song at the age of eleven and first played professionally with dance bands in 1949 at the age of twelve.
Hawks, the backing band for Ronnie Hawkins, which already consisted of 21-year-old Levon Helm on drums, 18-year-old Robbie Robertson on guitar, 18-year-old Rick Danko on bass and 18-year-old Richard Manuel on piano.
In August 1965, they were introduced to Bob Dylan and became the back up group, "Dylan and the Hawks" by 1966 they became the Band
I have seen and worked with him many time, he is a very kind and gentle, old soul, once in a while he still gets out brings his accordion and sits in with a local band in Highfalls NY, he lives next to one of my friends

Film credits:

1978 The Last Waltz (performer)
1980 Raging Bull (additional music composer)
1983 The King of Comedy (additional music)
1983 The Right Stuff (additional music composer)

Well deserved post Mud.

Garth Hudson and Robbie Robertson are the last remaining original members of Ths Band.

Here's wishing you many more Happy Birthdays, Garth. Thanks, for all your hard work throughout your career.

I probably should have said "I incorrectly thought..." My mistake -- I wasn't trying to infer you were incorrect. It was me with an incorrect assumption for many years now.

No worries. Whoo boy, have I made mistakes in my life. I didn't think anything ill of your post then or now. Apologies if I appeared irritated. I only get that way when the ice cream tub is empty. In fact I seldom get mad. Not that I'm a wuss, I just like to hold back my Irish temper. I learned that in the ring as a kid. :P
All was and is good. :D

I don't even get mad when I can't play something on the guitar. I just write it off as being a hopeless casualty.
