Hi this is really three questions in one. Please correct me if needed then answer the switch question at the end. I have a tu-2 tuner a bd-2 blues driver and a rc-2 looper do I place them in this order from my cp player to my amp ? Now should I buy two non latching fs-5u or a fs-6 do the do the same thing? Do I place the switch between the rc-2 and the bd-2? I also have two amps which would be best to use? The super champ xd or the mustang vi

I'm sorry I found most of the answer after buying a rc-2 and watching YouTube vids. How about this what is better or cheaper for home use miking an acoustic or installing a pickup?
Thanks

Cheaper is a difficult thing to answer. This pretty much depends on what the mike or pickup plugs into. Cost of mikes and pickups vary yada yada.

Generally speaking, acoustic pickups are a convenience and range from very good to terrible. There are different pickup mounting designs such as in the body, across the hole, under the saddle, a combination of these with multiple pickups, and other arrangements. Simple preamps or enhanced preamps exist. Some pickup equipment has batteries that can add concern with playtime. Some controls include tuners. With a built in pickup arrangement this may give you simpler options for using effects.

Many prefer miking over built in units; however, this works IMHO best in a recording situation rather than live where feedback and positioning can be more of an issue. Miking gives you many options from quality of mike to options of position and easy upgrading. Miking allows you to use a single mike for the guitar and a room mike for ambience. Other setups are possible. Condenser mikes are commonly favoured and phantom power may be required from a mixer, pedal, or other source. Other mikes such as dynamic (like Shure SM57) can be used.

Although, electric amps have been used, they are not recommended. Electric amps are optimized for electric guitars and most are not full frequency. Modeling amps with acoustic presets generally work better with acoustics than regular electric amps. They can be and are used, but still not the best. Acoustic amps or PAs will use your mike or guitar pickup across the whole frequency.

What you plan to plug into, and where you perform will make a difference.

There ya go for a start. Others may chime in. Good Luck.

Wow that needs pasted and printed. I only have one agenda it no and that is how to use my guild gad f130 with my rc-2 looper. Most all of my playing will be at home in my make shift studio. I want to save and loop Delta blues backing tracks then dub the acoustic in. I would like to buy an acoustic bass to do the same thing with. What do you think of the fender t bucket? Thanks for all your help

You're welcome, Cadmandu. I'm afraid that I'm not the one to speak of Fender's T-Bucket. I was going to check out the T- Bucket lineup a couple of months ago, but the dealer had none in stock at the time.

It would be best if you had a bass player to answer your question, preferably with acoustic bass experience. There's quite a few bass aficionados here in the Forum. Hopefully, someone may catch this question of yours requesting an opinion of the T-Bucket 300E Bass.

You could present the question on the Bass Forum or Acoustic Forum. I suggest you wet a line by beginning (if you haven't yet) and continuing this topic in, preferably, one Forum (perhaps here: viewforum.php?f=11). You might get a few bites. Maybe someone rejected the acoustic bass or accepted one, Fender or not. A new topic in one Forum will help to prevent duplication of questions and answers and you should get, hopefully, more direction to your quest. This will also aid others in the future.

Other than that, it's pretty much the same process of personal preference, and similar acoustic considerations as previously discussed. YouTube can give you reviews; but, it really comes down to personal hands on. If you can get hands on, try some better acoustic basses and lesser ones to give you a reference. Remember - you don't know what you don't know. Price wise you're likely not looking for best or worst. As I've done with my recent acoustic purchase, you will be considering a comfortable compromise however. Sometimes, you'll get lucky and get more than you expected for the price you are comfortable with. It may be the Fender T-Bucket 300E Bass.

Best of luck in your search. :D

As far as your pedal question(s) go .... the pic below is pretty much the normally accepted order of pedals when placing everything in front of the amp input.
That is to say, if you will not use an f/x loop built into the amp if so equipped.

It is by no means a hard and fast rule and you're pretty much free to try whatever you like.

One of the ways I sometimes break this rule is to place a chorus box (modulation) ahead of an OD box.
The chorus effect is much less obvious this way.
There is no wavering shimmer but the signal going into the OD is made a little thicker sounding.
I will usually set the chorus to be a little brighter than usual ... if it has that sort of adjustment.

Now, there's a loaded question.
One sure to bring out a few raised eyebrows.

It depends on you.
Pedal boards are heavy and bulky and they limit you to using only those effects you have on your board.
Multi effect units and amps with multiple effects built in are often cheaper, simpler and lighter to haul around but can sometimes have lesser quality of tone.
They can also sometimes have steeper learning curves than simple pedals and may not always have the flexibility to place effects in a particular order.

If you have both setups, I suggest you mess around with both setups and see which you prefer.
