Hey all. I'm Willy. I started a wile back, but haven't got the chanse to post until now. I would first like to thank Fender for providing this forum and great musical instruments. Don't know if any of the "big guys" that run Fender check these forums, but If I may, I'd like to make a suggestion. If possible, please have Squier bring back the 51. That's an awsome guitar. The only thing I would suggest if it's possible to bring it back is to reverse the sattles and shim the neck so that the angle from the tailpiece to the top of the sattle is similar to that of a tune-o-matic. Other than that, it's a wonderful guitar. I have had seasoned guitarests tell me about mine and the said modifications. Keep up the good work. I'm sure Mr. Leo is looking down, and is verry proud.

If they bring it back, keep the neck the same, and be prepared to make a lot of them.

Most deffinatly. When I mean reversing the sattles, I mean flipping them over so that the flat side is facing up. I heard of a guy doing this on the Squier 51 modders forum.

I've heard some folks say that the pickups on there were to "Icepickish", but I think they're awsome, but then again, I like that in your face sound that those pickups have. I think they are alnico threes or alnico fives.

I had someone offer me 4 Squier 51's ( 2 vintage white ) and (2 sunbust )still new in box for 520 dollars almost bought and still thinking if I should. I would keep one and just turn the others over but not sure if it would be worth the trouble.

I'd get them, and modify them a bit, then put Bigsbies on two of them.
