Awesome paint job on that Strat in your avatar/image. What can you tell us about it?

I am saddened by Roger's departure, his contributions were, imo, some of the best reasons to be here.

Unlike many passive-agressives here, with Roger, there was little ambiguity. He does not suffer fools well.

I call him a friend, a mentor, and thank him in abstentia for all the guidance, counsel and near-encyclopedic knowledge which he gave freely to me and anyone who asked.

For me, I think his greatest attribute was his Patriotism. A life dedicated to his Country and his Countrymen, preserving the freedoms which allow his detractors to speak freely here.

I can only hope that those postulating that his departure may be temporary are correct.

I hope we will all benefit from his contributions in future.

But as I said: "We have been diminished !!"

cheers!
this is eloquent LM.

I had been off the forum for awhile (involved with other hobbies etc.) and noticed that posts from Arjay were nowhere to be found. He offered a great deal of information and I will miss his posts greatly. As far as photos it would seem the forum could be updated to allow you to upload directly from your computer. I belong to the Corvette Forum and for years they have had the ability to let you upload without going to a third party website. No reason it couldn't be done here too.

I think most of us agree with this, now to get Fender on board is entirely a whole different story

+1 Why not host their own pictures??? Man this issue with Photobucked has changed history. One goes back through older posts on various forums on guitars, cars, etc and there are tons of picts with X through them. So when one reads about some topic and the person says, Just look at it in this picture, the picture is not there, so many many topics on forums have lost their abilities to really communicate in a helpful way. Too bad!

That is the BIG question Why Not, it's got me quite frustrated with this forum, the images, are/were some of the best part of this now so many are gone. Lots of explanations with nothing to look at as part of the explanation are quite meaningless, and with some of our members either, sorry to say some expired, and some just up and left, there pictures have gone with them, but there words stay, and leaves some of these post pretty useless when looking to solve a problem from past post
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! ( yelling in frustration )

I just finished answering a post that questioned the value of a ‘62 Jaguar. Easy peasy picture posting made available to the OP would have been very beneficial and, perhaps, the OP might have taken that into consideration, and it certainly would have encouraged others to join in. IMHO.

Hey, Doc. In the early days of Facebook I read an article that Canada strangely had more Facebook activity here in Canada than elsewhere, likely because of the percentage of connectivity blah blah. I’m sure that was brief though. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to believe that I have refrained from Facebook aside from the odd link that works. I know. Weird, huh?!

I can see the need and perks of Facebook, but I haven’t chased the carrot and my requirements are few.

I’m of the belief, with all the promotion thrown out there, that Facebook needs me more than I need it. YMMV. Just like most services such as the ever devouring Google, never say never, as they will get you in the end.

Thankfully, by choice, I didn’t get burnt by Photobucket either.
