Hi all, I'm new to the forum and I joined for the purpose of getting some feedback and opinions on the packaging of any and all Fender products in general (guitars, amps, accessories, etc.).

I came across a thread from 2012 that involved a complaint about guitars being damaged during shipping, but I want to expand on that and get some feedback on packaging for all things Fender.

Opinions/recommendations/etc. from people involved in selling or shipping Fender products would be especially helpful since it's common for instruments to be displayed outside of the packaging used to ship it to stores.

Again, anything packaging-related, negative or positive, would be very appreciated. Thanks for the help!

Disclaimer: I don't work for Fender or any competitor, but I do have some expertise in packaging design/engineering. That being said, I don't have much familiarity with the packaging within the musical instrument industry, so I figured this would be a good way to start learning. Thanks again!

Welcome to the forums, I have had lots of experience ordering and receiving Fender guitars and amps,.most of which came directly from Fender, I have never had an issue or concern even with some Squires that did not have gig bags or cases. The amps came in excellent condition and preformed well. All were clearly marked and Fender provided accurate tracking info, and everything was sent via FedEx .I also have ordered through Muscians Friend with same results. I have not purchased anything recently but my experiences have all been good. Hope this helps. And please hang out a bit this is a great community and always happy to welcome new folks. Gratz

Awesome, that's great to hear. Packaging is a feature that typically only receives feedback if there's a problem or complaint. Those of us designing any type of packaging like to essentially be an afterthought since that means we're probably doing a good job.

I do have one question about your post - do you remember if products you got directly from Fender were in significantly different types of packaging than those from Musicians friend? Based on that 2012 thread I mentioned, I think guitars get re-packaged by 3rd party vendors.

Hi P.E.-MSU, Hope you are enjoying the Forums. Ordered a Gretsch Electrmatic from sweetwater Came in all the Gretsch original packaging. I believe they just warehouse the products and really just ship using P.L.U. Codes and probably don't pay much attention outside of that. I guess its another reason to support your local music store. The problem is finding one that still cares about customer service. Rock on my friend. Gratz
