Man, I thought this card had a lot more money on it. :( Sorry Mike, but I suppose anything little can help! Once again, I'd love to give more, but I thought the card had more on it and I don't have much cash on me at the moment  And Brad, I didn't see a note on paypal as to add a note so if you get one from kylesmiach@yahoo.com, that would be me.

This is fantastic! I did organised something similar on another forum earlier this year for a lass there with Ca, and it was truly amazing how everybody pulled together to help make someone's day. No matter how much or little they could give - or even if they couldn't help financially - it was awesome to feel so much goodwill and caring for eachother. :D

Would be stoked to be able to help out, though I'll have to wait to send mine through until I'm at home after work this arvo. Paypal (and ebay) are blocked from work pc's, though probably for my own benefit, lest I spend my money whilst (and faster than!) I'm earning it..:lol:

** UPDATE **: I just added up the tally thus far and, as I suspected would be the case, we're already in very good shape here even after just 1 day! Naturally this is assuming that everyone who contacted me indicating that they'd mail in their donation does indeed follow through and mail it in, but ... assuming all those pledges are indeed good we have already managed to cover the cost of Mike's G-DEC® 30.

That said, I'll keep this going for just a bit anyway as I want to ensure we'll be OK even if one or more of the existing pledges backs out. And, as I mentioned above, I'll be cutting Miami Mike a check for any excess funds received. Keep 'em coming!

Guys:

Miami Mike got an early start this morning well (before forum hours) and dropped me a line -- needless to say, he's living life to the fullest for the next few days before his upcoming chemo session on Tuesday and will be away from ye olde computer for a bit, but he wanted to pass along the following sentiment:

Thank you to Brad, Fender and this great Fender Community for your generosity and continued support, well wishes and positive comments.

Enjoy your weekend, Mike and don't worry 'bout us here! :-)

Thanks for posting this for me, Brad! Also, I personally want to thank everyone involved in this and also for the continued positive comments and well wishes. I'll be updating my "Music/Cancer/Chemo" thread as things progress this week.

Guys, shortly after I posted the status update above, the "donation train" pretty much stopped. To be clear, we have made it to Mike's G-DEC 30 *if* everyone who promised to send fundage in follows through and does so. Given that I fully expect at least one or two folks to not follow through with their mailed-in contributions, I was hoping for just a tad more of a pad just to ensure that we're there. Anyway, just figured I'd post that update in case there are a few more stragglers out there who might want to pitch in.

Thanks for the update Brad please let me know if mind does not get to you. As I mailed it on Friday from the East Coast so it should only take a few days. For those who have not donated yet just a few bucks and the cost of a stamp would be cool. And the feeling of doing a good deed for someone is well worth it.
