I was looking at guitars and stuff on there site, and I saw a Fender sale, so when I looked at it the thing said $550 for a Dreadnought Acoustic. On the regular site they say $350 Also V neck American Strats cost $1700 in store and $1225 on site. Seems like their trying to push website over stores. That or their being stupid :x

I'm sure you will find out that GC is not very well liked on this site

I think the website is the current price... my local Guitar Center is never the same as the online stores, sometimes for better, sometimes not.

Epiphone raised most of their prices at the beginning of the year, but the store hasn't reflected that, other than the Dot Studio, but that model has a different price every week. When I started looking, they were $199, then they were $249, then they were $269, then they were $199 again...

Be thankful it wasn't Stairway to Heaven. Can you imagine how many times the sale staff has to listen to that?

Just a tip...
If you are looking at a certian product and have to resort to a Guitar Center, hop online and check out the price of it on Musicians Friend. If GC is asking more, (I'd guess most of the time), they will have to match the price of MF because they are owned by the same parent company.

I think they "bait and switch" with the lower prices online. That's evil.

While we're on the topic of the two being owned by the same company, does anyone know if my Musicians Friend Platinum card is accepted at Guitar Center?

Guitar Center will match any online price, from any store, as long as it's in stock.

I don't know if they match every competitor, but it all boils down to being a good, informed consumer.

Hello Invincible1214,

I've got some great deals at
Guitat Center. Mostly nice people,
I always do my homework and
they're happy {or seem to be}
to make a deal we can both live with.

From my experiance they will match
any current price.

You'll catch more bees with honey.

Cheers.

Well I did not know their was negotiating involved. Anyways I suppose if I know about it they can't fool me. And if they say they'll match the price of any online stuff, Then I 'Spose that'll do. If you guys have ever seen Wayne's World he goes into guitar shop , picks up a guitar starts playing stairway and a clerk says "No StairWay!!" and points a sign. If only all stores had a No stairway policy! Besides Now that I'm thinking more about it I remember my stupid brother went in and bought an Epi SG without any research, and negotiated for an hour only to get their online price!

Thanks Guys
-Invin

If you see a cheaper price with the online site for Guitar Center than your actual local Guitar Center, just quote them the price that's listed online, they'll match it with no hassle.

I bought a Hot Rod Deluxe Amplifier that way. I saw it for a cheaper price on their website. I mentioned that to the salesman, and he matched it immediately with no hassle. If you say nothing......I'm sure they'll take the extra money from you.

Even if they don't match it.......heck, just order it online and wait for it to come to the front door. However.....Anytime I've seen it cheaper on their website, they just match that price at the store. Of course, they're going to look it up on the website first to make sure you're not trying to mess with them.

I've mostly ordered online, just to save on the sales tax (no sales tax). It really helps on an expensive purchase.

I stoped in a GC store last year and just bought about 80.00 worth of odds and ends and when I got home I look at the receipt and thins just did not look right so I went onto the net site and 4 of the seven items cost more in the store. I then wrote a letter to them about this and asked way? I received no response back and a call to the store got me the cost of overhead was for the higher price as their answer. Not a fan of GC stores will buy a deal or two from net site but no store for me.
