I've been tossing the idea of building a guitar. I have no illusions of building something nicer than a custom shop, but would like to build something better than an entry line model.

I'm curious if anyone has experience with bodies and necks from Warmoth and Stew Mac? Is one known for better quality than the other and are there other sources to consider? I would like to finish the body myself but the neck would need to be already fretted. Thanks in advance.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Most of my Strats are partscasters but I generally stick with Fender parts bought from EBay's Stratosphere and other vendors. That keeps fit and integration problems to a minimum. And I can still legally call them *Fender* guitars.
