I need inspiration, as I'm turning the loft in my 2500 sq ft shop/warehouse into a playing space!
So post pics of your jamming area, whether it's your bedroom with a few guitars and an amp, or a full blown studio.

Oh if only I had photos of all the places we have used over the years...
I don't have many photos but one of our bands places was the second floor
of a Boars Head meat & cheese distribution warehouse.
Almost the entire floor beneath us was a walk in cooler filled with meat & cheese!
When ever the coolers kicked on it would make a fairly loud click or pop in the PA system.
(u can hear it in old practice recordings)
But we really enjoyed it there... Best part was it was free to use for us.
Thanks to a close friend of mine...
That was a long time ago...
There were so many other places I'm not sure I can remember them all! lol
Right now I am currently setting up in my house so maybe
later down the road I can bring this post back to life with some photos when I get more set up.

When I was a drummer in a band, many years ago, we used a church auditorium. We practiced several times a week there. It was used for school plays, and other performances. Big hall, with a stage. We even stored all our equipment there, so that we wouldn't have to drag all that stuff back and forth.

Once we needed some money for some equipment, so we decided to have a dance at that location. We publicized via word of mouth, and flyers, and ended up with a huge crowd. We charged admission, and all the money went to us.

We were able to do that, because the bass player belonged to that church, did lots of volunteer work, and as a result had access to that place.

We called it the "room of truth" - if you came unprepared to band rehearsal, it would be clearly obvious with the great sound and acoustics.

Haha 'room of truth', I like it!
Bafore we started drywalling, we played up in the loft (this was about 2 years ago)
and the echo was so bad, it didn't matter how bad we sucked, it was so loud, it just friggin' rocked! :D

Crap... I had posted a photo last year when we had a thread going on "What Does Your Studio Look Like?"

Can't seem to find that thread... but it's in here somewhere!

Here it is!!!

I've actually changed it slightly. What is not pictured in the photo is my computer where I do all of my GarageBand music creating. I have gotten rid of all the analog stuff and pedals.

Well, I only have a small corner of my basement where most of my gear is. It isn't very exciting or innovative, so a picture would be worthless. If I ever were to build a house though, I'd love to put in a small room that was somewhat soundproofed just to jam. Preferably behind a trap door on the bookcase  Not really, but I would love just a smaller room that you could crank it up and and possibly have some recording stuff set-up as well.

My current "space" also isn't worth posting a pic.

In high school, my best friend lived in a two-family house. Nobody lived downstairs so he got the 1st floor to himself. We played in what used to be somebody's living room. Lotsa room and his mother actually liked our noise!
