Great toque!

While I dabble in Flamenco guitar, I'm nowhere near at this guy's level. But just learning serves me well when playing electric guitar too. Like using all my right hand fingers, and not having to use a pick to stroke both ways or be fast. It takes a mental shift, but it is certainly useful.
Steve Howe is one of the guys who improved his electric guitar by practicing flamenco guitar. And you don't get much better than that.

+1

"Mood For A Day" is one of my favorite Yes pieces.

When I was a kid Spanish music was trending all over the place. Whether it was Xavier Cugat,, Afro Cuban Jazz Montenegro, Carlos Montoya, or Jose Greco, Tijuana Brass, amongst others, I wanted to slick back my locks, put on the Cuban heels, and flamenco strides. That changed when I found out that I needed big money for lessons. Good thing, because those castanets are not so easy to play.
I never lost my appreciation for Spanish classics, however. With a few Greco, Montoya, and Quadrophonic reel to reel orchestrations, I eventually resorted to playing a poor man's rendition of Maleguana on the guitar. Not great, but not bad either. I can still wail like a flamenco artist though.

And now this video. Downstairs I have some incense sticks and now I know what to do with them.

Thanks, Don.
