I've read somewhere that a black finish was actually more difficult to do on a guitar. I think it was in one of the guitar magazines that I saw that, but I don't remember where, exactly, but someone who was a luthier was talking about that.

It could be. I never refinished a guitar body. It maybe so on the Black finish taking more time to it now that I think it.

I wonder if the Fender Custom Shop would actually build a double neck fretted/fretless Jazz Bass? I've seen double neck Strats before. I'm sure it would cost some $$$, though.
