I received in the Am. Pro. Fretless Jazz the other day. The differences between the Am. Std., and the Am. Pro. in a Fretless Jazz are not too radical. The pups, the tuning keys, and the decal on the head says, Corona, CA, instead of Made in USA. The case is different, and the case candy isn't there anymore. In a zipper bag in the case, there are the adjustment wrenches, a warranty booklet, and an Am. Pro. Authenticity Card. The case is better than case the Am. Std. came in. The Mint Green PG was changed out for the Black Moto PG. The strings are, let's all guess,........ D'Addario ETB92 Nylon Tapewounds. ImageImage

A good playing bass, and the new V-Mod pups do sound good also.

Nice looking bass. 8) And it also comes with a case instead of one of those crappy gig bags they make, too. So, you have a chance to put it through the paces yet?

Thanks, I like the Black Moto PG over the Mint Green PG too. They did a nice job on the finish also.

The case is really decent. somewhat the same as the Am. Std. case, but it holds the bass in the center of the case, supports the neck all the way up, and has a closed accessory compartment like a G&G Deluxe case.
I played it really well for about an hour. It played fine. This Fretless is the "Electric Lady", and has the Road Rex Approval. It doesn't get any better than that. Image

Well, if it gets the name, then I'd say it is Road Rex approved. You know, I haven't heard you use those names in a long time, but I guess you used that on your own forum you use to have, where we got even more off topic than we do around here. :P

There are two little noticeable changes on the two heads, Am. Std./Am. Pro. The color of the inside of the name Fender on the decal on the Am. Std. was a darker color, than the lighter, brighter color of the name Fender Am. Pro. head decal. And the other change on the head decal, the Am. Pro. says Corona, CA, instead of Made In USA as the Am. Std. said.
The Am. Std. top, Am. Pro. bottom.ImageImage

Yeah,........... there have been a few basses that have come, and gone. This Am. Pro. does deserve "Electric Lady" status. A special bass for me anyway. Image

It really is a slick playing Fretless. The new V-Mod pups are fine. I may have said this before, but I don't notice any difference between these, and the CS60's on the Am. Std.'s. And the Bone Nut is good.

I had a Tort PG out to see how it looked in place of the Black Moto. Not to bad, but I like the looks of the Black Moto.

I do too. The Black Moto looks rough and ready for action with that axe. IMHO.
