It would honestly surprise me if there were more than 10 people who frequent the forums who AREN'T big Hendrix fans. I think to play guitar, especially Fenders, you have to have a lot of respect and admiration for him, and Clapton.

Let's not forget SRV, Robbie Robertson, Steve Winwood, Keith Richards, Brad Paisley!

Yes, I said Brad Paisley. That kid can throw down!

I am a big fan of Jimi Hendrix
at first I just buy cd by Fender Signature artises
such as Jeff Beck, SRV, Malmsteen, Clapton & etc
and almost all of them mentioned about Jimi Hendrix
so I got my first Hendrix cd and was hooked on his music
his showmanship is the best in the world

Oh I agree with you on the Brad Paisley. He's the reason I bought my Nashville Tele, and I've found some wicked tones out of that axe and my Marshall amp. I'm starting to prefer that more than my American Strat, but don't tell the Strat. :o

I'm a pretty big Hendrix fan. When people say he's undeniably the best, I don't know about that. There's no real measure for that. He's a great player, but so are many others. But still, an overall great guitarist who but together some amazing riffs.

Loved him from Day 1. He appeared at a time when there were a bunch of future guitar gods establishing their legacies -- Clapton, Page, Beck and the rest -- yet his playing seemed to be on a higher level. His sound was so different, so unique. Forty years later, his work still blows me away.

where hendrix ruled was in composition. His playing live could be downright sloppy at times mainly due to chemicals i think. His arrangement skills were in my opinion the best of the 20th century with muddy waters (who first implemented guitar, bass, drums, harmonica and piano. what we'd call the archetype rocknroll band format) a close second. Listen to the posthumous 'cry of love album' the orchestration is sheer beauty more akin to classical composers like handell than it is to Buddy Guy.
count me in as a fan.
