It was 50 years ago today, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album was released. A lot of years gone by since.

I was just listening to the new remix of it with the bonus out take material. I liked it quite a bit. 8) The bass really pops out now more than it did before. I'm assuming it's all the Rickenbacker at this point, probably with flatwounds, from what I can tell.

Wow, 50 years!

I remember when the album came out, I was only 6 at the time. The guy who lived across the street bought it and him and his friend were hanging out in his garage listening to it. (He was not allowed to play that junk in the house)

I thought they were cool because they let me hang around. I remember they were trying to identify all the people on the cover.

Several years latter I bought the album myself, "A Day in the Life" was my favorite song.

8)

I've been listening to the new Deluxe Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band release
with the false intros and extended parts. Very interesting and it also includes
“Strawberry Fields” and “Penny Lane,” in the box set.

I was 15 when it released, and was going to be in high school. A good beginning for both, for me.

I didn't even exist until another 5 years, so I missed out on that one.

I thought you, and I were pretty close to that era.

Yeah,.......... I just consider myself lucky, to have been trucking around in that time. It was definitely my time to be there too. 8)

It's hard to believe that was a half a century ago. It doesn't seem like it was, considering I was born around that era, but then again, I imagine to someone in their teens or 20's, that would seem like ancient history. I guess the passage of time has different perspectives, depending on one's age.

That is very true Paul. But I have to admit, at least myself, there are times when I feel as old as I am now at 65. Then there's other times, I feel a younger age. Not sure what age, but just younger than that now.

I know what you mean, albeit at 45.

Between the Beatles station on Sirius XM and my CD players at home and in the car,I've been heavily immersed in Beatles music all day long.I drove out to town today to pick up guitar No. 38-a Martin Backpacker- and I had Sgt. Peppers CD on steady repeat.A couple of days ago I ordered the 50th Ann. Super Deluxe-or whatever it is- edition and I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas. It was directly because John and George especially that on Feb 9 1964,I pledged that I was going to become a musician-I guess my obvious guitar obsession is proof enough of that I kept that pledge.

I've heard somewhere that they might do the remix edition with the "White Album," but it could be some rumor. I have to say I really like what they did with "Sgt. Pepper's," so that would be something to look forward to. Then there's the rest of the recordings, too.

There weren't too many things The Beatles recorded that weren't top shelf, the first time around, on recording gear that is considered ancient by today's standards. Damn good sounds for the first time around.
