You know, I'll be 100% honest -- at one time not incredibly long ago I owned guitars into the three digits ... but note that I use the past tense there. :-) One of the reasons I've been procrastinating to the extreme on this particular topic is that my current stable is, quite frankly, not all that impressive!! I'd guess there are other folks hanging out here who have got me beat by a fair stretch. :-(

Sometimes it not necessarily about quantity but rather quality...

Come now Brad, My collection is anything but impressive and I fully intend on showing it when I get enough ambition to open a photobucket account.

Not that it would matter to us, but maybe Brads stable of toys doesn't have enough Fender's in it. Being Fender's moderator and IT guru, maybe it's just better for him to not post those pics. I could understand that.

He already indicated his stable isn't all that impressive right now. Let's move on.

D'oh! I forgot to respond to this thread -- didn't mean to leave this shrouded in a veil of mystery, sorry.

It's no tremendous secret, really ... as any Google search will quickly tell you, in a former life (we're talking 10 years ago here, prior to my Fender gig) I used to be quite the nutty collector of G&L instruments, and owned a simply ludicrous number of them -- rarities, prototypes, you name it. Even operated a small enthusiast website devoted to the topic and naturally have many fond memories associated with that whole experience.

I started realizing over time that I was getting tired of the whole "collector" game and was really more interested in keeping a stable of workhorse instruments that spoke to me from a playability/tone perspective. The massive collection was liquidated and I kept only a handful.

Let's see, where was I going with all of this blabbering? Oh, right ... so the point of that was that when I came in to the Fender experience, in many ways I had already gone through that whole "must have this instrument, must have that instrument" phase of my guitar journey. So, yes, I do have a few FMIC products (including at least a couple of truly funky/weird instruments!) and the vast majority of my current "go-to guitars" are FMIC products. I will certainly share pics of 'em here, but ... be forewarned it's probably not the massive selection of pristine Custom Shop beauties you might be expecting. :-)

Anyway, it's on ye olde to-do list!
