Bump!

Just a quick heads up. Mrs. FSB alerted me to multiple people killed and injured at a concert in Manchester, England at 10:35pm. There was an explosion reported. 19 confirmed dead 59 injured at this writing. Ariana is thought to be safe and okay. Info is coming in as I write. Ariana's concert performance was coming to an end when a single explosion occurred in the foyer according to the reports.

Counter-terrorism officials gathered in London. Manchester's arena holds approximately 20,000 but it is unknown how many attended. There were many children without parents there to keep them from panicking as they exited the arena. Victoria Railway Station is closed down. A second suspect device has been exploded but found to be delinquent clothing left behind. Rumours are that it is a suicide bomber and that there is possible shrapnel such as nuts and bolts; but, at this time, it is unconfirmed.

FSB
Thoughts are with all those who have been touched by this tragic event.

Yeah. Makes me sad to think that even those children who weren't killed or injured will be affected. Unfortunately, that's the way of the world on both sides of the fence.

Any word on whose 'noble warriors' are claiming credit for this nefarious deed?

Prayers for the victims of this insanity.

:(

I know what you mean, I haven't been the same since 9/11. It affects everyone, unfortunately. The emotional impacts of terrorism have no boundaries and is the desired effect; a pitiful indulgence of a few idiots and some literally crazy people.
Not yet Arjay, but something will turn up.

Very sad news, indeed. :( The death toll has gone up to 22, the last time I checked. I really hope that it doesn't get worse.

The British have been hard hit by terrorism up through the years; starting with the Zionist King David hotel massacre, then all the IRA bombs, and recently attacks by sympathizers of extreme Islam. Religion, religion, religion.

The British have shown a remarkable resilience and ability to recover, without falling on fear, hatred and binary thinking as a result. But Great Britain is growing more and more secular, no wonder.

I hope our friends in Northern England did not lose family or friends to this latest bombing. My thoughts are with you.

Haven't checked yet this morning about any claim by ISIS or Al Queda. But, claims by these groups are usually announced within a period of 24 hours. With the amount of casualties (now 22 killed 59 injured) the terrorists are sure to step forward if they are involved. That's how terrorism works.

Improvised explosive devices (IEDs) are easy enough to make.
But the main weapon here is human ignorance, which cannot be fought with weapons.

Authorities have Manchester born Salmon Abedi 22, but this is not confirmed by the coroner as of this time. Abedi had been known by authorities before now. A 23 year old has been arrested, and 2 warrants including a controlled explosion to gain entry occurred.

Generally speaking, these terrorists are no more and no less than organized thugs and gangs. Most lack education, are from an unstable home life, are impressionable, desire to belong to a group (mostly with non-conformists), and have a credo to live fast die young. Politicians all too often miss the point that societies' differences, especially when religion and ideology is involved, cannot be solved through normal diplomatic channels alone. Terrorists will not go away any sooner than that of second and third generation gang culture. The best we can do is offer them a better choice.

With the Manchester bombing no connection to any group has been officially given so far, although ISIS has been known to tell their supporters to not travel to the Middle East, rather to stay home wherever they are and they'll be contacted through social media, etc.

FSB
I'm not so sure that if religion were removed that this terrorism would not thrive. I'm certain that these individuals have motivation with and without true belief (including monetary rewards and adventure) regardless of their direction.

We have had wall to wall coverage here in Turkey via British TV

I was born and grew up in nearby Salford and am proud to be from the Manchester area when you here stories about ordinary householders opening up their homes to people needing shelter , local taxi firms (a lot of them run by Asians and Muslims), running people home for free and the local cafes, providing food for parents of youngsters still in hospital , as well as hotels sheltering people
Please do not make the mistake of classing these scum as Muslim, some of my best friends are, they are just cowardly idiots who have a few screws loose
