I just found this out. I remember first seeing him in a few things in the 80's, especially a Phillip Marlowe TV show, which I use to watch and "Red Dawn." He was 68 years old. RIP, Powers.

He was a very gifted character actor from Texas and won an Emmy in 1980 for his chilling portrayal of the maniacal reverend in "Guyana Tragedy -- The Jim Jones Story". He later co-starred with Keith Carradine in "Southern Comfort", a cautionary allegory about survival against overwhelming odds.

Rest in peace, Powers......you'll be missed.

I remember both of those movies. I think "Southern Comfort" was probably one of the first things I'd seen him in, besides the Phillip Marlowe series. I haven't seen it since around the time it came out, though.

I just saw he had died a short time ago. He was also in the TV show, Nashville. He also had a good part as a B52 Bomber pilot in the HBO move, "By Dawns Early Light". RIP P.B.

"Southern Comfort", I loved it!

It also cautions against messing with Cajun's on their home turf!

I also enjoyed Sin City, He will be missed. :(
