We are about to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the inception of Fender Forums member signups. If you go into the members section of the masthead you will see the date Brad created the Forums, which was mid-February of that year. Sign ups began on June 12th. Its been a fabulous run. We have shared each others mutual interests in music, and personal joys and sadnesses. We have lost a few great people and served as a support group in the healing and betterment of others. It has been literally a real world experience of sharing from the four corners of the globe. Looking forward to another great decade.

Doc

Roger that!

It's been a long time since you and I shared lunch together in Maine, I had dinner with Ceri and his wife at BB Kings' in NYC, lunch with Kong and his family in NJ an then the Clapton auction preview in Manhattan, and hosting Xhefri and his wife here in Florida. We've also had a couple of face to face lunches with people from the Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade area, though one has relocated to Pennsylvania. My one regret was not being able to touch base with 'Martian' in NJ before his life went into a tailspin.

Fascinating how few sign-ons remained long term contributors if contributing anything at all. I'd love to see what number would remain if Brad culled out all the zeroes.

Anyway. The experience, overall, has been fulfilling.

I was actually here back then, but I had different accounts which I had deleted for various reasons. Wasn't there some sort of forum before that, too? I seem to remember the web site having something and that was before 2007, I think. I do remember looking at the Fender site at least around 2004.

Yeah, I came across one of your old accounts one time when I was digging through old posts looking for something else. You were into using P Basses at the time and I think was using that 500 watt Hartke combo.

Yea, it's been a bumpy road at times but some great friendships have been made here.

I'm not here every day but I have really enjoyed the forums. I've been able to ask some "dumb" questions without being ridiculed, and got some great answers and information.

Rock on into decade #2. 8)

It's not hard to see why this Forum has made it to the 10 year mark.

Those that have come and gone and those that are here have made it what it is. Those to come will make it what it will be.

The comradeship, education, support, and overall frivolity are sure to keep this Forum going another 10 years should the guitar gods be in agreement.

To Brad and to those who managed to participate in the kickoff:

Cheers, gang!
FSB

Thanks, for bringing this to the fore, Doc.

I came later to the party than some of you as I was occupied elsewhere but once I found this place it quickly became home.

Cheers to absent friends.
I think I miss Martian most of all.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Ditto and agreed. The last five or more years of his life and that of his family were turned so upside down it was just pitiful.
