Eric Clapton

It's true. I have been a solid EC fan since the 70's. When tickets went on sale for his concert at Arco Arena, I was on the phone within seconds. I got the best tickets in the low-dollar catagory. The tickets never made it to my house. They replaced them with will-call. In other words, worst seats in the arena.

The concert:
Mostly songs from the album "Reptile" not a good album in my opinion. He ended the show with "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." I'm not kidding! I drove 300 miles and stayed in a bad, overpriced hotel for this concert!

hm..thats interesting, when i saw Dylan he was excellent. He did every song well and played his guitar which he didn't do anymore at concerts.

well, technically, i didn't see it persay, but Dashboard Confessional sucked at the ALMA awards. They were out of sync, and they wounded like they were all playing in different keys, the harmonies were off... they just sucked. Another band that sucks live, is Hawthorne Heights. The lead singer needs voice lessons before he goes back on tour. also, though i can't speak from personal opinion, i've heard that Fall Out Boy is really bad love. idk. that's just what i heard from a friend of mine who went to one of their concerts.

A couple of years ago, an oldies show came to my town. On the bill was Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard and Chuck Berry. Out of all of these "legends" Lewis was the best. He had a simple, no frills band and played all his hits just as you would expect.
Little Richard, with his monstrous "two of everything" band (two bassists, two drummers, etc) only played the first few bars of his hits and then preened for the audience as if saying "ain't I a genius?" He would also spend concert time signing posters and handing them out to those in the front row--Just play, dang it!!
Finally Chuck Berry came out. First he could not get any sound out of his amps. It took about twenty minutes with him turning knobs on his amp before he actually played a song. People were leaving by now. Then when he did start playing, he seemed to follow some unknown rhythm in his head. His backing band (who probaly had been hired just for this show) had a terrible time trying to follow him. This caused Chuck to stop in the middle of a song several times and actually go over to the drummer and piano player and school them on how to play their instruments. It was lousy. I know Chuck is old now, but I can never hear a Chuck Berry song without thinking of that miserable performance.

Santana about 8 years ago in pittsburgh. eveyone was havin a good time but had nuthin to do with the music. the whole show was pretty much boring, and i spent most of it lookin for chicks. Even though music always comes before chicks in my book, so that should tell you how bad it was.

Iggy Pop and the stooges... sorry but the guy's music didn't work for me and the way he dry-humped everything just worsened the whole experience :?

Rolling Stones in Wembley Stadium, 1990..
So bad, such a disappointment..
but... it did confirm to me that Rolling Stones is the most overrated band ever... well.. at least in the top 3 together with the Doors and Nirvana!

My wife dragged me to see that Marc Cohn guy. It was painful..the best part was that in the next row were two hot lipstick lesbians making out to that horrible song True Companion. Whenever I hear that song now, I smile.

Saw the current version of the band, "Chicago" and they seem to have lost some of their better musicians.
