I just saw John Mayer at the DC Verizon Center and I would agree... WOW! Anyone who thinks he has a weak voice should go see him live... The Studio does not do him justice!!! I also enjoyed James Jameson, but Ben Folds was awful.

Before the show they were selling Tee shirts that said “I love the Ben Folds band before they sucked!", which made me laugh out loud. But then I saw them play and man they were bad. The sound was terrible and I think his piano was out of tune. He tried to have a bit of energy at the end of his set but I just did nothing for me. So a great band, at bad band, and then a great band all in one concert!

But the best was CLAPTON!!! He still has is it!

I agree Ben Folds performed when I saw him also but I though he was crappy. John Mayer was amazing. Great show This has been a great tour for him. I saw the Red Rocks Show.

i'm going to have to say... Marc Broussard. I was at his CD release party in June. He's my fav artist of all time. I got to meet him! AAAHHH! he's awesome live. I got to meet his guitar player, Corey. he's probably the best guitarist i'll ever know... it was really weird, because I was the youngest person there. There were different color arm bands for everbody under 21, and there were only 3 people with them. my best friend, me and some other girl who was 20. like i said, weird.

Aside from RUSH, that I mentioned earlier in this thread, I have to say I saw Bryan Adams and Journey perform together. That too was a great show, BUT we almost did not get to see the finish due to some jerk who threw a beer bottle on the stage and hit Neal in the head. Steve Perry ran to him because he faltered and they stopped the concert immediately to check out the situation. They tried to get the guy who threw the bottle to be a man and come on stage to apologize. Didn't happen, but Neal did us proud and finished the show.

Steely Dan, on the first reunion tour in '93, at Deer Creek outside Indianapolis. Drew Zingg on guitar, Peter Erskine on drums. Sublime, jaw-dropping, incomprehensibly good. Mind-blowing in every respect... great band, great sound, a great evening on the grass, the best songs performed impeccably well. I know I'll never see another show that hot.

It was either early this year or late last year (2006 for those who don't remember) I went to see Wolfmother at the Electric Factory in Philly with a friend (I can't remember the month and the ticket is too far away to look at) but it was pretty amazing. This concert beat seeing my long time favorite band The Who and also beat out Phil Lesh and Friends at the Tweeter in Aug 2006 (I think that was it at least, I'm bad with dates). Anyway, due to the small venue and my love for the band, at that time I had really only had their cd for a month but it was all I was listening to so I was at the height of my love for them, I danced the night away, to quote Cream. It was pretty awesome, that's all I can say. I'm still pissed I didn't have the money to buy a shirt, but I will next time they come back!

i would have to say those were ok but by far the best show ever was either U2 or Rush. both recent tours and both were amazing. no show is good enough after those two

David Gilmour at Cleveland Public hall in 1984 touring his solo album “About Face” I was in the front row first seat center section. Very simple sow, no elaborate light show, just Dave and the band playing.

Now that's a show I would have liked to see. John Petrucci blows my mind!
