Since the passing of Ed Roman (RIP) I haven't been seeing many posts here or elsewhere with insanely expensive and truly wild looking guitars.

Until I found this site, that is.

Rebel Guitars

Anybody heard of these guys?
Any experience?

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

That name sounds familiar. Perhaps they advertise in Premier Guitar magazine. I've had a subscription for that for a few years now.

Wildwood Guitars also have a bunch of fancy looking ones. Although they tend to avoid the most outrageous ones, especially the James Tyler ones can be pretty out-of-the-ordinary looking.

Thanks for the link, Art.
My gawd ... I absolutely hate those James Taylor headstocks.
I will peruse the rest of the site later.

What an incredibly stupid idea if you ask me.
Take a perfectly lovely exotic guitar and ruin it with some TRON inspired headstock.
Yuck.

Thanks again.

I have to agree. Many of his guitars are gorgeous, but plastering his name twelve times over the headstock is a bit too much.

There's also Destroy All Guitars, which have a good selection of boutique guitars. Some tasteful, some more ... EdRomanesque...

But if you want something that adds stage presence without having unplayable shapes, they have that. Like these ones, that are made out of old skateboards:

Hey, Matt. Thanks for the post. I knew about Wildwood, but little about Rebel; although, I seem to recall the name. I believe Paul may be correct in his assumption that Rebel is found in the magazine(s) as is Wildwood. Destroy All Guitars is a new discovery for me, Arjay.

Any way you look at it, now that I've seen those beauties, I'm going to the doctor to get some anti- depressive pills before I rob a bank. Just kiddin'. I'll just dream of getting a Strat from the big boys with the big toys, and then I'll be good to go. :D
