I got the notice about the SDOTD but don't know much about that interface.

Thanks Mike.
I couldn't see what Bill posted.
Looks like it might be Fender's response to the iRig.
I confess I know very little about Amplitude and other versions of that type of technology.
I'd be curious to hear folks' opinions of iRig, Slide and the like.
I understand the basic function of it so that's not what I'd like to hear about.
Mostly, I'm curious about why it would be useful and where one would use it.
What I've seen and read so far hasn't made me feel like I can't live without it.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Hi, Bill:

I don't know if this is what you are looking for. It would appear that Fender no longer supports Slide, but I can't say for sure.

If I am correct you willl have a free licence for the Rock Prodigy Lite app. I did find this site, however, should you need it. You may need to register with the site:

http://www2.fender.com/rockprodigy/slide/

Your manual or box or CD/DVD may have a registration code to use consisting of numbers, letters, or both. I'm assuming Amplitube with Custom Shop is one of the software items, and it may or may not be a Fender specific version that may or may not give you more free stuff in the Free Amplitube in question from IK Mutimedia. (Website was under construction at this time so I can't help there). If you have questions on Fender's connection with Amplitube, the good gang at IK Multimedia should be able to help out aside from their extensive website.

Bill. the preceding info may not be of interest, but was included in case it was.

Furthermore, I read that if you plug Slide into Apple devices no other software other than your DAW (Amplitube, Garage Band, Ableton, Cubase, etc) is needed.
It's pretty much plug and play. Not so with PC. You'll need to have an Asio driver installed with your DAW/Software.

This universal one works well for me in my cases (I don't have Slide, but I have other Fender related 3rd party software).

http://asio4all.com

If it hasn't happened yet, I hope this gets you started in the right direction. Good luck.

FSB
