You guys surely rocked the house, Mike. Glad your trio had a great jam, I know the crowd enjoyed it. :D

Thx FSB!!!

Just getting in from a blues jam. It was also kind of a practice for a house party gig
we're doing on Saturday. I think I may have invited some people that I probably should
have asked the party hosts first....so I'll be busy in the morning!

Uh oh! Time for the Witness Protection Program to kick in. You can always head up and hideout this way. Al Capone and his band of scoundrels did.

Ha! As it turned out the hosts are okay with it and it looks to be a great
afternoon party tomorrow. :D

Glad it worked out, Mike. Now I know you’re going to have a great time, and so will they. Kudos to your hosts, :D

Thanks FSB! It worked out great. I love playing outside but moving the gear
isn't as much fun. A good time was had by all though. Now tomorrow is just
an acoustic gig and earlier than today/tonight's gig.

We played from 4 til 8 and then went another 2 hours. Great private outdoor
party and BBQ. The place was huge (like a mansion) and at least 150-200 people
off and on all afternoon and night. *Reminder to self, get some bug spray for next
outside gig which is next weekend.

Wow! Very cool outside private party, Mike. I’ll bet that was fun for all. Gotta love that. Glad you had a great time. :D
When I lived on Vancouver Island bug spray was only a fairy tale. I later moved to the prairies, mosquitoes were the local Air Force, and that gunk became your best friend. Pickup trucks sprayed up and down the street, planes dropped chemicals like it was Vietnam . . . then I got outa town for fresh air on the weekends only to be introduced to Walleye, fishing flies, and black flies. I think that was a plot to get me to enjoy winter.
In the past couple of years, spraying has pretty much been either changed or dropped altogether. Dragonflies and lady bugs have been released in droves, and it’s working fantastically to where clouds of skeeters amount to most often none. Ir’s getting to be that pesky wasps and hornets are the problem in the later months of summer and early fall. Not much other than collecting them helps there unless you’re hidden by a screen. Phht!

Break a leg at your next gig, Mike and don’t forget the spray.
Cheers!

Thanks FSB!

*Tip for those who gig outdoors - don't leave your guitar(s) on stands, keep in the case on breaks*

Gotta clean all that gunk off and might as well change strings too.

That sounds like a really fun time and you got paid for it, too. Can't beat that deal. Yes, don't forget the bug spray next weekend! :)

Co-hosted local open mic last night - some good and talented players showed up!

Did these songs with my trio:

Why Does Love Got To Be So Bad - Clapton
Medley - Kicks/Just Like Me - Paul Revere & The Raiders
Little Wing - Hendrix
Takin' Care of Business - Bachman Turner Overdrive
Sky Pilot - Eric Burden/Animals

Fun night, met some new contacts/friends/players.
