Great picture, Mike. Interesting how useful these newer toys are.

I don't do the band thing anymore because I just got sick of dealing with egos, substance abusers, etc. These days I'm strictly a solo Acoustic guy and I couldn't be any happier . I started doing solo shows this past December and things have really been taking off for me. I now have been playing out 3/4 times a month which is more than I ever did doing the band thing . And the best thing is, I keep all of the money and don't have to pay anyone. LOL.

What do you use for your vocals (amp or small PA?)

Miami Mike , I've been using a Fishman Loud box Mini which has a channel that is exclusive for vocals , sort of like a mini P.A. That is all I need. I bought it brand new back in January and it was the best deal I ever made as far as Acoustic amps do. It's rated at 60 watts but it's quite the powerhouse and it's extremely light at around 20 lbs which is a blessing for us older guys.

Ah, cool, yes I've seen others using them.

Very comfortable air conditioned venue (restaurant/pub).
Leaving afterwards it felt like you could slice the thick humid air with a knife.
Dew point 72* F and air temp 88* F at just after midnight!

That reminds me of my first trip to hot Miami in the 60s. I thought it was cool how suits were made without a lining.

Ah, the Cuban tailored look....sometimes w/shoes and Cuban heels.

Last night was uneventful (that's a good thing!) The best news I got was that a friend of mine who
had his car with all his guitars and gear stolen (it's a new way of theft, the thieves pull up with a
truck and just pull the car up onto the truck....whole thing takes < 5 minutes) heard from a detective that they had recovered his car and all the gear.

That’s great news, Mike. Losing something by theft is terrible enough, but the invasion of one’s personal emotions is also a tough thing to swallow. Score a big one for the good guys. Happy for your friend. I hope the authorities found a nice truck to throw those scoundrels into.
As for the Cuban look, back in the day it came with Brylcream.

I'm glad your friend got his car and gear back too, Mike. It must have been a huge relief for him.

Brylcream, man I remember that stuff. I confess I tried it once but I think I over did it. I think they were the ones who advertised, "a little dab will do ya". How about Vitalis with the magical ingredient V7? Now that was the good stuff.

Wow! Good memory, Marky. You are right on all accounts, and I forgot about Vitalis. That was the good stuff. However, Brylcream was better for greasing heavy ‘50 Ford car doors or polishing your shoes. Throw a tube in the glove box and your ducktail and kiss curl were ready to rock.

Went to a jam last night and played a song called "Avenging Annie" - it was by
Andy Pratt from the Boston area - - and he was there to sing it - pretty cool!

Another stroke for the chalkboard, Mike. Nice!
