With a Bigsby and Tune-o-matic, it has to be massively reinforced, to the point that it can't be all that resonant, and mediocre at best as an acoustic.
That leaves a 16-fret semi-hollow electric with no bridge pickup.

Personally, I'd quietly walk away and pick up a Country Gentleman instead.

+1

Gotta agree.

I can't imagine the strut work required to hold that thing together with the strings tuned to pitch.

Visually though, it's very appealing.

I never had the idea to buy it, just see where guitar builders may go to take our money.

Yes inside I see few big pieces of wood...

LOL

I'd say that guitar would be a waste of my money.
No thanks.

It's funny, though.

Thanks for the chuckle.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Aw, Gee Whiz. If would be nice if it works because, unfairly, the Country Gentleman and its equal brothers and sisters are a different class and price.

In the end I believe it comes down to the ears, and mojo. Great sound without great mojo is not much better than great mojo without great sound. IMHO. But, having both is bliss.

I'm betting Windy and Warm can still be played on the Gretsch in question, just not the same as with the CG.
