I saw this new contest on Facebook but I can't get any info at http://fender.com/FenderProSweepstakes . The page just loads forever. Maybe the contest hasn't started yet. Does anyone know anything?

Thanks for the link gomania16. A daily contest leading up to a grand prize. Pretty cool. 8)

Thanks for the tip gomania16. It works fine for me but it is not on FB. It's on the Fender.com website. Exit FB and try it again.

Yah.... I hear ya.
Would have also been nice if there was a direct-link to enter.
I don't have any social media accounts.
I was on FB & Linked-In but I quit both about 18 months ago as they were neither useful nor fun and mostly just time wasters.

I too do not use FB or other popular social networks per se. I did participate with Usenet news groups and Windows Live (mostly so I could video message friends and family); but, I have avoided FB like the plague. Funny thing is, I've read where at one time Canadians used FB more per capita than other places. It may have been our wide cable connectivity, etc.

There are tons of contests and a slew of other advantages with FB for sure, and many are sorrily missed; but, I sometimes feel like Hansel (& Gretel) where the witch is making offers only to meet her pleasure at the risk of my being eaten alive. The problem is we're all being dragged into the woods, and FB is turning out to be the only direction to take. Besides, the way things are, web promotion is bundled like kindling, so we may get burnt without knowing it until we feel the pain. It may soon be impossible to put out the raging fire. IMHO.

Last spring I watched a guy I worked with get a 7 day suspension without pay for a work related comment/complaint he posted on FB.

Seeing that really woke me up to the possibility there may be dozens of reasons to be careful with social media I hadn't ever even considered.
It made me glad I was already off.
