Now I'm in a band again, I've 'had' to add some more pedals to my collection. I've always just daisy chained from a boss tu2 tuner, but now I'm getting serious amounts of hum after adding a phaser and delay to my rig. I can't even plug my wah in without the amp going nuts.

I already have a noise gate that I use at home, but that doesn't cut it for my pedal board, so I guess I need some isolated power. I know everybody will say get a voodoo Labs but they are out of my price range.

Lots of companies claim to produce isolated supplies, but then further reading says they aren't truly isolated, so what's the point?

What are you guys using? I don't need anymore than 8 outputs, smaller size the better. Need to power the tuner, phaser, delay and wah. Hoping to add a fuzz and maybe a lead booster. Unfortunately I don't think I can run my EH English muff'n off a supply it has a weird plug.

I use the TrueTone 1Spot.
It comes in various sizes.
Excellent alternative to VooDoo but only just a bit cheaper.
Pretty much the same price category, within a few dollars.

For isolated power on a really low budget you could look into the Donner DP1.
I haven't heard anything yet about it's reliability rating.
I think it's part of the new wave of cheap Chinese products sweeping the guitar world so it could very well be a "disposable" unit.
I don't know anyone who's tried it yet.
I think it might be made by Joyo and rebranded to Donner but don't quote me on that part.

The noise gate I brought is donner, and it seems pretty good, but the hum in my gig rig is too much, and like any noise gate, it eats away at my delay effect.

I've read that some like the mxr bc brick, the joyo jp02, mooer ps and others around the low and mid price range say they're isolated but not truly isolated like the voodoo and things of that price.

I'm going to the shop today, see what there is. I know they have t-Rex fuel tanks and voodoo products. Will check the 1spot out. Cheers

Just checked the donner first 2 sites I checked people saying it's not actually isolated!

1spot pro looks decent. Can you run 2 pedals from one 9v plug, or does this defeat the object of isolated power?

Thanks Mike, however today I brought another pedal while I was in the shop, so the iso5 is not giving me enough outputs.

I checked out the voodoo lab 2, too expensive for what I need. The mxr iso brick looks decent, and smaller than the voodoo aswell. I will also be checking out the onespot, although again I'm not sure if it's going to have enough supplies in the long run. The bigger onespot, the 12 port, will take up too much room on my board. The mxr has 10 or 12 ports but double stacked, so it's footprint is still small.

Anyways, after a long convo with my mate who works at the shop, turns out my English muff'n could be the culprit for my hum. It uses 12v AC power at 1000mah. It can't be powered by any bricks as it has a stupid type of connector and is AC. So the only way to isolate it is to plug it straight into the wall in its own plug socket.
