Just found out B.B. King coming to the Jazz Festival in Cape Cod! I has been a long standing goal to get to see him in concert for many years.
I just happened to be in this neck of the woods! (I dont live here) What a Birthday Treat! As B.B. gets older my chances of actually getting to go see him play was looking pretty grim. I know he's not the best in the USA, but after listening to him (among others) I figured out that I wanted to learn how to play. I know I'm getting windy, sorry!

I've seen BB King twice, but it's been a while since the last time.

He puts on a great show. It doesn't matter what song he plays--he makes it a masterpiece.

Yeah, the only time I saw him actually play(on DVD) was on the Crossroads Video. That DVD is the stuff! I think I have worn it out, and the wife gets tired of watching it. The way I understand it, the Tent has a revolving platform(stage) and the way the seating is arranged, no-one is over 50 ft. from the stage. I think it will be great!

BB is the guy who brought the bend to the center of guitar playing. He didn't exactly invent it, but he took it to another level. In his prime, he was about the best in the business. You can get his Kent recordings in tab and really see where Clapton got a lot of his licks. What's great about BB, you've got to play with technique with a lot of his songs. He plays from the 2d to the 8th fret or so without tapping on "Goin' Down Slow" rapidly and just sliding. Don't believe him when he says he doesn't play chords - he plays chords all over the place. That's just a way of being humble and giving credit to the backing musicians. He also says he doesn't play fast, but listen to him play "Sweet 16" live and tell me that's not fast.

The concert is July 31, counting the minutes, climbing the walls.
tick, tick, tick etc. Got 3 tickets through Ticketmaster one of the seats has a "Slightly obstructed view(pole)" I waited to give the seats up, and try again, but it gave me the same ones. Oh well, better some view than no view, right guys?
Gotta go for now

You won't be disappointed. I've seen BB twice second time was a birthday present from my wife so she went along. Bobby bland was with him and when Blue Bland did his nasal snort my wife thought he was singing with a cold. Everyone within earshot started laughing as my wife didn't know about his snort. I didn't tell her as I wanted to see her reaction.
