I don't know if it's just me, but have you noticed the more bells and whistles that you have with all of this modeling and programming, the less time you spend playing, but just messing with that stuff? I could spend an hour or more going through those menus, and not even play a single song, because I know I'll want to try every thing there, and then there's the option of even tweaking those options on top of that.
You said a mouthful there, Paul. When I had my Line-6, for the first few years I spent way more time tweaking than playing.

Good info there, Matt. Did you get to hear them?
No. I only had a couple of hours and my real interest in going was to check out a Gretsch model I never knew existed. I don't have the model off the top of my head because their model naming convention is so obscure. It's a chambered two pup double cut. It is the same shape as used by Malcolm Young. It's a lot of bang for the buck at $679 Canadian. If they had had a red one I may well have taken it on the spot. The black wasn't doing anything for me. Interesting guitar. I considered trying it with one of the DT amps but my time was limited and I wanted to hear it with a known quantity first. There was a DRRI in the demo room so I used that.

First a Ric and now I'm looking at a Gretsch.
If you would have told me two years ago I would have called you a liar.

Few comments from the thread starter

The Bluetooth line 6 Amplifi I had at the start of this has gone back. This will please some of you as the reason was continual dropouts! Technology eh?
I still look forward though to a Fender release at NAMM of a similar product. Only this time unlike the Line 6 it will hopefully work. Judging by the comments on the Amplifi series found online, Line 6 look like they have given up on resolving the issue (no upgrade App software in a year). This appeared to me where the fault was as all was well until you tried streaming music simultaneously to the amp.

As for comments that having more bells and whistles made you play less I couldn’t disagree more. The whole point for me was to be able to download a matching tone quickly without messing around.

In the meantime I have a workaround using a cheap Bluetooth dongle connected to the ‘aux’ in on the Mustang and remote desktop.
Now I can sit down with my iPad and use it to switch tones on the mustang whilst also being able to play backing tracks (slowed down if I want)

I highlight again that this is not for gigging just some quiet practice and noodling time :D

I like the abnormal inputs on the Fender amps, too. :P

I own a line 6 spider lll 120 watt and the only thing I use it for is the 2x 12 in it, than I hook my 1967 BFVC to it and it rocks, the vibro is to die for, and no ticking. The line 6 never did sound all that great, it did a lot of interesting sounds, kept tweaking, more than playing, and got close to but never satisfied. Hooked the VC to it and never use the line 6 as a stand alone amp anymore, and yes I think of it more of a toy, cause it was fun playing with it, not so much fun trying to use it.

The Mustang series of amps doesn't even have native Bluetooth support so I don't know why they became the topic of conversation here.

 Bluetooth allows you to use portable devices (tablets/smart phones) as a wireless controller for some amps. Just like a smart phone can be connected to my TV to use it as a remote control.

When I use Bluetooth on my phone, it does not degrade any other feature of the phone or my television. It does not make them "toys" with "bells and whistles". It's just one more thing my phone and TV can do. I always have the option of walking across the room and pressing the buttons on top of the TV.

It seems unlikely that one will get internal bleedings from watching an image.

However, someone might get an epileptic seizure, but that depends on how the image effects affect the brain. It's difficult to say at a glance. Sometimes images that look harmless can trigger it, while flashy images can be safe. The frequency of flashes seems to matter. Mere color changes are unlikely to trigger it, as long as contrast remains similar. Size matters too - blinking that only capture a small part of the field of view is less of a risk. Because PaulLFs image flashes at low frequency, doesn't change the contrast much (converted to greyscale it doesn't flash much), and occupies a small part of the screen, my guess would be that it's safe. But that's just a guess.

The prudent thing would be to change the image, even if it should happen to be PSE safe, because it (demonstrably) triggers outrage on behalf of those that may be sensitive, whether or not it actually is a significant risk.

It wasn't me who brought those up but I think they were introduced to the topic as an idea that Bluetooth might be a useful feature on future Mustangs.

I encourage you to read the thread again.
I don't believe anyone said Bluetooth degrades the other features of anything.
I, for one, said I use Bluetooth every day and find nothing wrong with it.
strings10927 wrote:

That's two different things.
There are toys with no bells and whistles and the are things with lots of bells and whistles that aren't toys.

I'm not trying to attack you but I do strongly encourage you to read more carefully and try to determine what people are really saying, rather than what you assume they mean.
Making assumptions about what someone on a forum might have meant is not usually helpful.

If we pressure the removal of one animated GIF where does it end?

Don't like looking at something?
Don't look at it.

It should be noted that distance values for Bluetooth are approximated at:

Class 3: 30 feet

Class 2: 150 feet

Class 1: 300 feet

Just in case you want to use it for your concert.
FSB
On the other hand (sic), manual control at the amp distance is 0 feet.
