Too bad it has dings and nicks.

...and a two piece ash body instead of a one piece.

Well, yeah, someone at Fender needs to go find a dictionary, because pine from Wisconsin is pretty much the opposite of exotic.
It's like calling a country lass dancing two-step an exotic dancer.

Back in 2012 I passed on a new sunburst alder 2012 Amn Dlx Strat that had a knot similar to this one and in a similar place on the left. I wasn't taken aback by it as I found it was kinda cool adding to the natural wood look. I thought it showed better than this pine version.

I did have concerns about future issues that have been known to sometimes occur with knotholes like this. Maybe, I should have reconsidered?

Then again the alder version wasn't related to Eric. :P

Seems to me that Fender ran off a number of pine-bodied Tele's and Esquire's in the past......like ten years ago, perhaps?

I know fillers are typically used for flaws in axe bodies; but, the aforementioned Slow Hand pine guitar makes me wonder how many painted axes have an unseen knot?

If you've ever built plastic models or done any auto-body work, you know the old adage......

You can hide a multitude of sins under a coat of paint.

Or, as a hobby woodworker, behind veneer.
Knots and whorls aren't that hard to work around as long as it's not on the edges of the piece of wood. Hard on the tools, though.

That looks interesting. Was there any bass offerings?

Well, Gibson has one new bass coming out, and bass is the redheaded step child for that company, so I figure they'd have at least something. :P

If unconfirmed conversation with two Fender reps Saturday afternoon at NAMM are to be believed, the Fender Mustang Line is not a dead stick!

The conversation depicted an ongoing effort underway at Fender to continue and reinFUSE (pun intended) life back into the Fender Mustang product line!

The Mustang Amps remain Fender's best selling amp line of all time and the best selling amp worldwide.

● Summer NAMM was mentioned.
● A new and updated line of Mustang amps were mentioned with the name: "Mustang Pro"
● A new version of FUSE was mentioned.
● Android and iOS were mentioned.
● There was no indication if the existing Mustang model's firmware would be upgraded nor revised.
● There was no indication if the existing Mustang models would be discontinued and replaced by or merely supplemented by new models.
● There was no indication if any new Mustang Floor successor would be forthcoming.

We've heard the promises of continued development for quite a few years now. There has been no update since 2014, and even then it was just a couple of bug fixes.

As for no promises of compatibility - if it's just bringing the name Mustang forward, it's not really a continuation, now is it?
