Reminds me of Eastwood and Reverend guitars. Retro look.
But looks aren't everything for a guitar, so it will be interesting to see what players think.

Thanks Mike. No duo-tone. The closest now is the Eastwood Link Wray Tribute.

I love listening to John Meyer talk about gear.
He rarely uses the terminology you expect.
What the heck is a bouncy amp?
Makes you think.
I love listening to him play as well.
I have that concert bluray he's got where he does 3 bands and 3 styles in one show.
I dunno. Does he have more than one of those?
Floors me every time at any rate.
Talented man.
He has an amazing touch and he makes it look so easy.
I don't really follow his career though.
Is he still kind of an odd duck or has he sorted some of that out?

Thanks for the link, Mike.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I happened to see a clip of John with Dead & Company and he was playing some new
and very nice riffage. I haven't followed him either, but he is a very talented player and
seems to be broadening his skills by playing with many others.

I hear ya on his terminology use too - bouncy = springy?

+1 on the Meyer thing I was not sure what to make of him, he is talented that is for sure, the girls seem to love him, I did gain some respect for him, since I have seen him a couple of times with Dead & Company. Yeah when he said bouncy I kind of got it. Maybe springy here is something I read; "Additionally, the sheer physical size of the AC30’s cabinet produces an effect that sounds very much like "natural reverb." This is another sonic trademark of this particular guitar amp— it has a bouncy, springy feel. The AC30 is a ton of fun to play because it’s so lively."
And now a quote from the fender site;
"Tube amps are generally more responsive and beloved by artists who play more traditional rock music.
“When you play chords or pick notes, it’s the way the tube amp responds to it, the way a note returns to you after you play it,” Heins said. “With certain tubes, they kind of have a sag—people call it ‘spongy.’ It has a bouncy, lively feel. Sometimes with digital amps, it’s very hard to get that right.” "

Looks like Fender has some new limited edition "Exotic Collection":

Image

From looking at the pictures, it seems to me that these may be a way for Fender to get rid of surplus body stock from Select models and FSR pine (which isn't exotic, but ok...) models from 2-3 years ago. They don't seem to have the exquisite necks of the Select series, so prices should be lower, one would hope.

I do think the 1st strat in the line up is rather good looking
