I headed out this morning to look at a 1962 brownface vibrolux and got sidetracked. In our local Craigslist a person had posted that she had a 1964 Fender Super Reverb with four matching Jensen Speakers. Well that piqued my interest......I detoured to the person's house to check out the amp and lo and behold it was original. All four speakers had matching codes and were from the 48th week of 1963 and the tube chart showed that the amp was from April 1964. All transformer codes indicated a 1964 amp. No tears on the grill cloth or tolex. i plugged in and it sounded great. I subsequently made an offer and she accepted. I drove directly to my amp tech's shop to have him give it a once over. I cannot believe that I was lucky enough to find this amp 10 miles from my house stored in a garage....It will be pleasantly tuneful new year. Happy New Year, everybody!
