okay, here are my picks:

5. This guy named Corey that plays with Marc Broussard.
4.Eddie Van Halen (That should be obvious)
3. Brian May (Queen)
2.Ray Toro (My Chemical Romance)
1.Synyster Gates (Avenged Sevenfold)

Note: about #5, if you happen to have direcTV, check out the 101 and look for the Marc Broussard. Corey's on there.

i love # 5 on the list. i seen marc broussard in Dewey Beach at the Rusty Rudder last year and Corey was TEARIN IT UP. they recorded the concert that night and sold the cds right after words and it is definately one of those moments i will never forget and i have the CD so i can relive it a little bit too! i never even heard of marc broussard before that night, my buddy told me i would like it and took me.

Hard to narrow it down to only 5, so I'll do it this way -

Django

Chet Atkins

Clapton

Hendrix

Leo Kottke

*Disclaimer - this list is subject to change with the weather.

My opinion, rock/blues:

Eric Johnson
Phil Keaggy
Stevie Ray Vaughan
Jimi Hendrix
Eric Clapton

And yeah, there are guys that are probably technically much better, but I don't like their music as much.

hehe. that whole band has so much talent and potential. i think the reason why there not as popular as they should be is because of that gospel feel that comes from their music here and there. it makes people run for the hills for some reason. they are defiantely one of the best bands ive ever heard. the voice, the lyrics, the drums, the guitar, the bass, it all just melts together. the place i seen them in is half open to the beach so it wasnt the greatest acoustic wise but man what a great show.

now that i think about it bein half open, the show wasnt at the Rusty Rudder, it was at the Bottle and Cork. ill be back in the states in a couple months, if you hit me up with a PM then (if you remember), ill mail you a copy of the recording that night.

i know what you mean. I was at the CD realease party for Marc's latest album. It was at a crowded dancehall, but the whole show i was like 5 feet from the band!!! it was soooooo amazing. he's my fav artist of all time. that, and his house is like 30 minutes from mine. i gotta stick with my Louisiana boy. anyway, I got to meet Marc and Corey after the show. I was joking around with Corey, and i told him that I wanted to steal one of his guitars (he's got some nice ones) and he told me that i should have talked to him before the show and he would have let me play with them. i seriously thought that i was dreaming!!!

yeah thats another thing i liked about them, that they were all SO down to earth and realy nice guys. in between songs they were doin jello shots cus these chicks were walkin wround with trays of em. so eventually the whole crowd was buyin em in between songs too. lol. i bet the manager loved them for that. he got the whole crowd doin 3 dollar jello shots after every song. hehe. good times. good times.

Tough question, there's so many from several genre's and side by side comparisons don't really work.

Steve Howe

David Gilmour

Pat Metheny

Frank Zappa

John McLaughlin
