Well, 2016 got another one. Say what you want about him, but I think he was one hell of a singer. RIP, George. :(

I agree with you, Paul. He had great vocal chords, but, also a struggling lifestyle.

Sadly, another loss in 2016 from the music world.

Dead is dead. It really doesn't matter weather it's 2016, or 2017. We all get to the Mountain Top someday.

I'm surprised though, like most people are when you hear about the passing of some of the more popular folks, or the ones you were more aware of. For me, I was floored when I heard Jack Bruce passed away. I'm glad Ginger Baker is still with us, but I honestly thought he would've been the first of the three to pass on from Cream's trio.

Yeah, I thought he was the one worse for wear, but I guess not. People are surprisingly resilient, sometimes.

As it turns out, George Micheal did not die due to his "struggling lifestyle" (whatever that means). He died of natural causes:

"Singer George Michael died of natural causes, it was announced Monday.

A coroner said the star, found dead at his home in Oxfordshire on Christmas Day, had a heart condition known as dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis.
The 53-year-old also suffered from a fatty liver, according to Oxfordshire's senior coroner Darren Salter.

Well, it's not that clear cut. Dilated cardiomyopathy is a group diagnosis that includes Alcoholic cardiomyopathy. Similar for fatty liver, which is a group diagnosis that includes alcoholic liver disease.
Although both conditions can have other causes, in my non-MD mind, the combination of both seems to point towards a lifestyle disease with alcohol playing a role.

arth1, be sure to have a member of your family post your coroner results to the forum in the event you should pass away. I think we should all get a chance to speculate about which of your life choices led to your demise. Inquiring minds want to know.

When the day arrives, I hope I can say like Lemmy that I had a good run and don't regret a f'cking thing. But who knows, I might get run over by a snow plow. What's it to ya?
