It may seem like blasphemy to some--but Johnny WInter's version--although it does owe something to Chuck...

Highway 61 Revisited Bob Dylan or Johnny Winter?

The Beatles. It's in the mix IMHO. But, it depends on what mix (see below). I like the drums better on Spooky Tooth though, and A&M was no slouch on quality most times.

Louisiana Man-
Doug Kershaw or Johnny Cash?

During a roadtrip (some time back) across the northern states, my wife and I stumbled upon the Montana State Fair by accident. Doug Kershaw was playing! Cowboy hats were flying when he showed up on stage. What a treat.

In '88 at a Beach Boys' concert we caught 3 Dog Night, so biasly I gotta go with 3 Dog Night.

Blue Bayou
Roy Orbison or Linda Ronstadt

Side bar - I'll vote for "Louie, Louie" or "Johnny B Goode" ... those two have been covered a foxtrot-tango ...

Blue Suede Shoes - Carl Perkins (I love Elvis, but I'm going Carl on this one...)

Next one:

"The House of Blue Lights" published in 1946 and recorded by Freddie Slack with singer Ella Mae Morse ... OR one of the many cover versions by either:
Chuck Miller, Earl Richards, Merrill Moore, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Freddy Cannon, Canned Heat, Commander Cody, The Flamin' Groovies, Mitch Woods, Meat Puppets, and George Thorogood
