I'm only new here, but already feel like a guitar without strings when this place is down over the weekends.. compound this with battling the restricted opening hours, and actually making a post here becomes no mean feat for an antipodean posting on a northern forum!

I know Fender's a US-based company, but your reach is worldwide, as are your many supporters and posters on these forums. 8)

So Fender people, any thoughts towards extending opening hours beyond those of your workday? There would surely be some fantastic potential mods amongst the core group of long-term posters on here who could assist keeping all things clean and tidy during your IT peoples' downtime. Myself, I'd be more than happy to help during those hours more south than north.

Thought I may as well add a simple poll anyway, see who else would like this happy hours extension. Add your thoughts, people; "yays", "nays" and "reasons-why-for" all welcome to the discussion. :)

Thanks,
Frankie, your friendly local down-side upper! Image

That's funny you mention this, as I was literally pondering that very same topic earlier today, no joke -- and I'm right on the verge of opening weekends up. The forums are now at a level of maturity where I think we can pull this off safely, not to mention that I've got ye olde Blackberry configured to extra-super-duper alert me whenever messages sent to ForumAdmin@fender.com arrive. :-) So, there's no need for a 'petition' as it's already a 'known' thing and it's something we'll be addressing very shortly.

That said, your poll is worth having anyway, as the last time this particular topic surfaced there were actually a folks indicating that they LIKED having the place closed over the weekend. I have to think that's the minority here, yes? I guess we'll find out soon enough via this poll. :-)

I am all for it. In fact, I jones for it over the weekend and since I am on the east coast, I can't post until 9 AM on the weekdays. I would love to be able to post anytime on this forum. Since this is the only forum I regularly visit anymore. It's the shiznit! :)

I'm for it also. The only problem I had with it is that now there will be NO reason to look forward to Mondays anymore. Back to Mundane Mondays I quess.

I'm totally FOR this. I already mailed someone (admin I think) and asked why our beloved Forum has working hours. No reply. The posting time is pretty limited... I haven't visited many forums in my life but none of them had time limits like these.

im not sure if i want it open longer :?
i kinda like that it closes in the weekends keeps it a bit more spam free!!

but one thing i would like to see is a spam button wich we users can hit and automaticly report spam , much easier than sending mails!..

No doubt we will all have to work together to keep this a clean happy place.

I think we have enough responsible folks around here to keep it on the up & Up.

I have seen members able to give gentle correction when needed and I am sure Brad will be glad to terminate anyone who cant live in harmony here.

I like the idea of it being open at least for a test weekend to see how the spam goes. Being that your blackberry receives the alerts, it shouldn't be much of a problem, but who knows.

Well I opted for the Yah! Mainly because of the time diff. By the time I get home from work I only have enough time to read all the post over at a fast pace so there isnt any enjoyment. I cant always post this early either so the weekend is a good option for me. Speaking from the selfish side of me, I could get my first "pick" faster LOL!!
