Yikes!
Just gave the central Virginia Blues Society a ration of poop. Money taken in yet nothing put out to help musicians in need. A lotta gimmie and nothing else.

From their Facebook page:

"Central Virginia Blues Society's sole purpose is to promote the Blues Music in our area"

From their charter, giving aid to musicians in need is not one of their functions:

"The Central Virginia Blues Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization that recognizes and celebrates the Blues as one of the most enduring, important and influential forms of American music. The CVBS aims to promote the heritage, performance, appreciation, and vitality of blues and related music forms by building a strong membership base throughout Central Virginia; organizing jam sessions, festivals, live music performances and educational events; building larger audiences for blues music throughout the region by fostering greater public appreciation of blues music and performers; supporting venues that showcase blues music; encouraging business involvement with the blues community; developing and providing educational music workshops and classroom programs; honoring and raising the visibility of Central Virginia blues performers; publicizing its accomplishments; and developing funding to support all of its efforts."

And judging by their announcements, they have greatly increased the number of jams and other events in 2016, so it seems the money goes where it should?
Without more precise details from Linnin, it's impossible to know what beef he has with someone this time.

Out of curiosity, have you donated to this organization, or are you just sniveling?

Off the top of my head I can think of dozens of more deserving charities than some esoteric artist support group, especially during the holiday season.

Ever take a stroll through a children's cancer ward?

A VA hospital?

A hospice center?

Agreed, but that's non-sequitur as they're not an artist support group. They don't claim to be. Their charter is to promote blues, not help artists in need.
