Good wishes from Wisconsin too! Enjoy the long weekend. I'm not picking up anyone from college myself this weekend but my cousins are picking up their son (just finished year 2 at Art Institute of Chicago), and they will be stopping by on their way home.

I found out this morning that the scans were clean and I asked my Oncologist, "so I'm in remission?...and he said Total Remission!!!"

They didn't even flush the mediport, instead they are arranging the removal date and should be calling me back today and I'll be scheduled for my annual scope check as well.

The port and catheter to my neck removal will be done again by radiological surgery.

It was explained that "monitoring" will go on for the next 5 years. My next follow up is end of September.

Thanks to everyone for their support and I hope that this thread helps others (or loved ones) that end up with some form of stage III cancer.

Early detection is key and makes a HUGE difference, so if you're due to be checked, I urge you to go for the procedure.

Very good news Mike.

And of course good advice.

Take care and get stronger each day. You're still in my thoughts.
