Thanks to you also, Doc.

Great articles and thanks for posting strat58cat.

Chet, I hope that you also are well on your way to better health. It has been a good weekend. Got to jam a bit while sittin' in with a friend's band on a couple of tunes. I hit a couple of "clams" but glad that I was able to still play reasonably well (they said so, I don't know for sure?). The neuropathy is more cold sensitive than finger sensitive so far.
Other than that, I get tired and I'm learning that naps are your friend, but
every day is a new one to experience.

It's just after 2pm here and time for a siesta.

Thanks David and to all. This is a great community to be a part of. I've always felt that musicians and "music people" were a tight group and the positive vibes that I've been getting here from the Fender Community surely confirm it. :)

It's good to hear that things are going as well as they are. With the support we have here on this Forum we can get through this.

I have had the best weekend I have had in a long time. You guys should have seen me this morning dancing and singing in the kitchen while I was fixin' breakfast for my wife and I.

That's great that *you* fixed breakfast for your wife, Chet. As we've talked about, it's so important to let our wives and families know how much we love them.

Mike and Chet,

Great to hear your weekends were well suited.

Mike, I bet it felt good to play with the band.

Chet... bet it would have been quite a show to see you dancing and singing.

As always, you guys have been in my thoughts with well wishes for you.

If you get a chance, visit my MySpace page... I have posted a new song, Cherished Aspirations, that turned out to be very emotional, as I am being told by the fan-base. And in truth it was composed with that feeling.

Best wishes to you both.

Thanks again, Barry. I listened to and liked all of your tunes that you have posted. "Cherished Aspirations" is a great soundscape with lush melodies and a superb mix.

Randy1 and all, thanks again for the positive vibe and well wishes!

Thanks My_Bucket and best wishes for your father!

Barry, thank you also and you deserve it. Those are some great compositions, playing and mixing!

I've got my "off-week" appt at the oncology clinic today. They'll be doing bloodwork and depending on the patholgy reports I might need some kind of an injection to boost the white blood cell counts.

Neulasta is one of the meds they had mentioned that gives the white blood cells a boost. Hopefully everything will go okay.

Thanks Pat and all. It wasn't a very good day for me unfortunately. The bloodwork pathology showed that I was in the beginning stages of an infection due to a high platelet count.

Platelets are smaller than red and white blood cells and a high count can cause clots or bleeding. I just got home from the pharmacy (they are getting to know me very well now :(

My oncology team feels that the medicine should kill the infection in 4 or 5 days and said to notify them if I started to hemorrhage. This scares me a bit because I feel fine, but a little tired.

I'm hoping that everything works out and I can continue my next "session" of infusions next week. I want to get this finished and not fall behind on treatments but I'll do what they say. I have no other options, well...no other good options.

Hi Mike

I got an inkling stuff was going on with you, but somehow I only found this thread earlier today and discovered the full story.

Be aware that many people here will have a fair idea of what you are going through, and will be feeling for you very strongly. Sounds like right now you are having some “getting started” issues with the treatment. I hope your medics might be able to make adjustments and get things settled down a bit for you.

Anyway. Please know that people you have never met, far, far away, are rooting for you. Hang in there: it may be tough, but you WILL get through.

Very best wishes to you - Ceri
