Aye Life.............Life is la Carnival

You can walk on the water, drown in the sand
You can fly off a mountaintop if anybody can
Run away, run away--it's the restless age
Look away, look away--you can turn the page
Hey, buddy, would you like to buy a watch real cheap
Here on the street
I got six on each arm and two more round my feet
Life is a carnival--believe it or not
Life is a carnival--two bits a shot

Saw a man with the jinx in the third degree
From trying to deal with people--people you can't see
Take away, take away, this house of mirrors
Give away, give away, all the souvenirs
We're all in the same boat ready to float off the edge of the world
The flat old world
The street is a sideshow from the peddler to the corner girl
Life is a carnival--it's in the book
Life is a carnival--take another look

Hey, buddy, would you like to buy a watch real cheap
Here on the street
I got six on each arm and two more round my feet
Life is a carnival--believe it or not
Life is a carnival--two bits a shot

Arent The Band's lyrics great.

I Know I'm pretty Green round here, But I'm touched By Your story Brother. My Wife & 9 Yr Old Neice are both survivors!!

Not sayin it's a Cure, But Akalined Drinking Water really helped My Wife!!

Follow Your Doc's advise 1'st, (Provided You honestly Trust them, If you feel for 1 sec that You need a second opinion , Kindly ask 4 one!)

Music is Indeed a Ultimate Cure all, Keep Jammin as Long as God blesses You with the ability to!

I'll add your wife and young neice to my prayers! I saw many younger cancer patients last month when I participated in a band that performed at a "Kids 4 Cancer" Christmas Party. It's sad to see kids struggling with it, but proves that cancer knows no limits or boundaries.

My oncology team is wonderful, but I do check with felllow forum member, zzdoc, on some issues.

Thanks again to all for the positive support! :)

Mike,

The news you gave sounds very positive... Hurray! I am certain the next several months are just as important as all the treatments you had to go through last year... and you have come this far, and made it.

Dear Mike,
I haven't read all of the posts and such in this thread or your updates but I did want to take a moment and offer you my best and most sincere wishes as you proceed on this journey. I have been a "care taker" many times now...my wife (who's a very talented musician in her own right) went thru uterine cancer a few years back, her father died of lung cancer, my father is a lung cancer survivor and my mother is currently going thru her -6th- battle with cancer...she's had breast cancer 3 times resulting in the loss of a breast, skin cancer twice after that and has recently been diagnosed as stage 4 with tumors on her liver and one of her lungs (which has recently spread into her spine). In other words, cancer and I are very old companions and I understand very well what you and your family are going through.

Please know that this awful disease CAN be beat and that the fight is very well worth it. Embrace life and cherish each and every moment and if you ever need to talk, please feel free to email me directly...I have a lot of experience at listening :D. Also if you haven't discovered it yet, while not guitar related or anything there is a wonderful online chat community called "ONCO CHAT" (you can Google it for the URL) where you can talk online (via chat) with other patients and survivors. It's a wonderful resource and in many ways I own those people my sanity.

I sincerely hope that you make it through all of this and again I wish you the greatest of luck in doing so! Always remember that tomorrow is very much a day worth living for.

Peace,
Jim

Thanks again to everyone for the positive support. :!:

I communicate with many others through cancer.org and other similiar websites. We all try and help each other with our experiences and it has been a great positive resource.

Happy SuperBowl Weekend.

I had my next follow-up this morning and was told that everything looked good, so my oncologist ordered a CT scan and next follow-up for May 26th. I asked him about CEA blood tests and he said he was sending today's bloodwork out and would let me know if there was anything to worry about. He said the scan would be the biggest help in determining if anything is showing, but it has to be worked out with my healthplan provider before scheduling.

So, we went with the May 26th next follow-up, but he said if insurance doesn't approve the scans yet, then it may have to be re-scheduled later. If those come back good, then he said I could plan on my follow-up scope for June or July.

The neuropathy has improved and is only slightly felt in my fingertips. He asked if handling ice cubes caused any problems and it doesn't, and told him so.

So, it was a good visit and now I just wait to see how the insurance company is going to react to the scans. My last ones (CT and PT) were done last May.

Thanks again for your support!
