:) That's what I'll be doing again today now that I'm home from infusions and still have my portable pump of 5-FU going. :?

I also need to get some B-Complex which includes Folic Acid to help with the neuropathy. I've been holding off, but I think it's now time to buy.

One more day, tomorrow, but this has been a rough week. Thanks for your positive thoughts, mojo and prayers.

Great setting, but likely Mike will have to stay out of the sun. Hang in there!

Ya know, my face looks like I've been in the sun, but it's just caused by the chemo drugs and subsides after a few days. I'll be on the coach in an air conditioned room in a few minutes. 8)

Put The Last Waltz on or something and kick back and let the meds do their trick!

I am still praying for you Miguel! Hang in there brother!

Keep the faith!

Yeah, I've been reading the Clapton Autobiography at my treatment sessions and I'm up to the part about the Robert Stigwood Organization and EC's fued with him and how he had to "sneak out" leaving some nice gear behind.

Some of those scenes he describes with Hendrix, Harrison, Beck, Page and others are amazing. What a life of ups and downs and he's lived to tell about it and still performs amazingly! 8)

Just checkin' in after finishing up my 4th cycle and wooo-hoooo!!! What a great feeling to not be attached to that portable pump...it was disconnect day today, next week I'm off (to rest the body, soul and mind) and will start cycle 5 (of 12) the week of September 15th. I'm free (for awhile anyway  ).

Now I can let the "Chemobrain" syndrome subside :

Thanks again for the combined solidarity and well wishes!

Mike,

Almost over the hump! As bad as it is, it passes quickly. This is the time when, for me, things seemed longest, because I'd already been undergoing chemo for a long time, and saw I had more to do, but before I knew it I was over the hump and going downhill and then finished. Don't get down this is going to end.

EC is one of my favorite musicians. Among blues and rock guitar players, his versatility is impressive. He's great at electric blues lead, rhythm, slide, and acoustic. BB King, for example, is a greater electric blues lead player imho, because BB King initiated a lot of the style that EC has, BB plays the blues in such a classic way that his guitar sings, and BB plays in a multitude of rhythms. People often fail to appreciate the rhythmic virtuosity of BB King. While a lot of Blues rock songs are in 4/4 rock and roll time, BB King will go from a 4/4 song to a Chicago swing to a classic swing to darn it I can't recall the name of that blues pattern Stevie Ray often uses also it's a . . . shuffle. I had to look it up. The internet is great for we chemo'd amateur musicians. Anyway, EC, SRV, BB, many others are always an inspiration because they keep going until the road ends.

Good to hear you sounding so positive, Mike. Take it easy this week, maybe play with the G-Dec a little.

Thanks and I am enjoying the G-DEC a lot. :) I'm also finding that the more I get into the chemo treatments, the more the cumulative side effects occur, change and make things uncomfortable at times.

It's an experience that can't really be described in words and to anyone who has "been there-done that", I have a new found respect for. The main thing is to keep thinking positive and keep getting back up after it knocks you down...and it can REALLY knock you down at times!

For the benefit of the fortunate out there: Recall the worst gastrointestinal illness you've ever had, couple it with the worst sore throat and canker sores you've ever experienced and multiply it 1000 fold and you're just beginning to walk in Mike's shoes.

Doc
