I've been out all day today and drinking a lot of water to try and get my bloodwork in better shape to continue chemo on Tuesday.

I remain positive and hope to get this back on track and be done with the chemo by the end of this year with a clean bill of health.

Please keep your fingers crossed for me...thanks!

I'm doing reasonably well today and hope that my bloodwork pathology reflects the way that I'm feeling on Tuesday so I can start the treatments again.

I have been playing with that great little amp and it amazes me at how really good it sounds. I'm very thankful to all involved that made it happen. You'll see some future posts from me in the G-DEC forums area as I get more familiar with the midi capabilities.

I'm heading out now for some clean fresh air and exercise near the ocean. It's a beautiful day for it! :)

Thanks again for the well wishes and positive mojo, thoughts and prayers from everyone.

I walked so much yesterday that I slept really well afterwards. The problem is that I woke up at 3am :(

Anyway, I'm hoping that my bloodwork will be okay and that I can resume chemo treatments tomorrow. I really want to get my 3rd cycle down (25% of treatment) even if it is a lower dosage. The incision that had opened up still has the steri-tape over it, but the doc said the oncology nurses can still access the mediport.

So, I'm finished with the antibiotic, got some exercise and rest and now will see how things go tomorrow.

My bloodwork was "in range" and was able to continue treatments today. :)

I'm a bit tired, actually very tired, but just wanted to update my situation. I really believe that all of your positive vibe, thoughts and prayers are helping this work for me...thank you all so much. :!:

Sleepy time...time...tim...ti...t

I got a lot of rest and I'm ready for today's chemo infusions. I feel pretty good, despite lugging this portable infusion pump around, but I'm getting used to that as well and it's only every other week.

I don't have to leave for another half hour (EST), but I'm ready to keep kickin' it.

He's away this week, but I'd like to also acknowledge zz_doc's support and medical advice, answers and opinions. It never hurts to have "other" professional medical opinions.

I am glad you are getting back on track. It sucks that the treatment makes you sicker than the disease, but it is a price I would be willing to pay. Hang in there Mike! We are all pulling for you!

Keep the faith brother!

Yesterday's infusions knocked me down more than I've been knocked down yet, but I'm up and ready to fight again this morning.

The metallic taste syndrome is kickin' in  , but I'm finding ways to deal with it.

Today, I have an appointment for bloodwork, an exam, short chemo infusion and then they will "unhook me" from this pump and flush the port with saline and a heparin lock.

Next week is just bloodwork checks and exams, so basically I've finished 1/4 or 25% of my chemotherapy. My next short term goal is to hit the 50% mark, which should be early October, if no setbacks. :)

Thanks to all, for the good thoughts, prayers and moejo!

Mike I'm glad to hear that you are doing better and getting that treatment you need. Many of us here are keeping up with your progress and we are rooting for you a lot. Thanks for keeping us informed about how you're doing. Thinking about how you are getting done quickly with 25 percent, 50 percent, 75 percent of the treatment completed is a nice way to do it. I did that as well. What works out well about it is that as the treatment wears on you, also you see that you are making rapid progress through it and will soon be done. It's a hard experience. Definitely, nothing else I've faced in my life was the same as that one. I alwasy said that I was not brave in facing it, but it was just what I had to do at first, and later when I was more hit by it and very tired (ever since then I'm tired but not as much) then I was just holding on to the fact it would be over soon. Also, I did get to a place where I was not concerned about a bad outcome, which started to just look like a rest to me. Recently I was reading a book about WWII and I found out a lot of soldiers in combat actually develop the same attitude and it causes them to be pretty fearless. Well, I just want you to know that I do see your courage, even though you may not just like I didn't see my own. You are just determined to do what needs to be done and surf through the cancer pipeline, and that's why you're doing it. I'm alive several years later because I made sure I got in there every treatment and minimized social interaction to avoid infection during that time, with treatment being the top priority. You're dealing with things that we don't deal with every day, and you're doing it with a lot of grace under pressure.
