Time to relax, breathe in the salt air, and center. I always feel better after a couple of hours soaking it all in. This may not sound very exciting to some, but I'm finding that there are a lot of things that we take for granted and I'm learning to stop and enjoy some of those things during this time.

Man, enjoy that! I would love to sit and listen to the ocean right now!
I mean, it's only an 85 mile drive for me, but that's still expensive... :P

On my last visit to the island of Maui I had cause to go down to the beach early to reserve a cabana. I have seen 14 sunrises over Haleakala, each unique as the day it dawned. I have seen the moon set into the ocean behind Halemohana (West Maui Volcano). There are many things under the sun which we humans should not deprive our senses of.

Only the universe knows for sure...............

Enjoy!

Doc

Yeah, being close to the ocean is truly a blessing. There is nothing more peaceful than to sit in the sand and listen to the waves break! That is being close to heaven in my book.

Mike, just to let you know, I had my colonoscopy today and everything went well! They found two polyps and they are gettting tested. So keep your fingers crossed for me!

You are still in my thoughts and prayers brother! Keep the faith!

I woke up today with a moderate burning sensation over the incision of my mediport. I got up and looked in the mirror and it looked to be some kind of infection. I ended up calling my oncologist and he called in a prescription called "Dicloxacillin 250mg" to take every 6 hrs for the next week. I'm supposed to start my 3rd cycle of chemo on this week and hope that this doesn't require me to re-schedule and prolong the treatments.

I'll be calling him in the morning again and will see what he thinks is the best way to go with this.

I'm sorry about that Mike . I hope the meds help. I'm wishing you a better rest of the day. You have never stopped being in our prayers. Be strong. I know it is easier to say than do .
On another subject..... Have you recieved your amp yet ? If not it should not be much longer. I sure hope you enjoy it. Peace! :)

Thanks again for the well wishes. I haven't received the amp yet but it's probably in transit. Unfortunately, I'll be at the clinic this week and might not be home to sign for it, but I'm sure that it will find it's way to me.

It's almost 3pm (EST) and after going to the clinic, they want to see how the infection looks in the morning, but with no fever, I'm told that I'll probably be good to go with cycle 3 this week. I really don't want to prolong this any further than necessary.

I've been twistin' some knobs and dials on the G-DEC 30 and I'm really impressed with this amp. Next will be to read the manual, because a lot can be done with this cool little amp. The midi/PC capability is a very cool feature too. 8)

So, I'm basically checkin' in for a bit, before I go back to the amp and do some rockin'

Well, as the old adage goes, "One step forward, two steps back".

I wasn't able to continue treatment/infusions to day because of
1.(infection/blood ozzing from incision above port) and
2.(platelet count was low).

They sent me back to the interventional radiologist group and the doc cleaned, sutured and dressed the infected/open incision area.

So, I go back tomorrow morning for bloodwork and see if they can proceed with the treatment.

I knew it was too good to be true, I had finally got an early appt for chemo today and wasn't able to get the infusions. The first day of the folfox treatment is the longest and I was hoping to get in and out by around noon time. Oh well, I can only trust that my oncology team (and I say "team" because my oncologist is away this week and he runs the oncology dept/clinic) is making the best choices for me, and I believe that they are.

Mike,
It is good that you are remaining positive! Keep it up and know that we are with you! I hope your blood work looks good so you can get back on track to the road to recovery!

It sounds like your Oncology Team is doing exactly what they need to do in your best interest medically. Today was just one of the speedbumps in life and things will be OK. Keep your chin up and your great attitude throughout this and you'll be fine.

But just to help out I'm sending EXTRA Mojo and Prayers today!!!!

Thanks friends. I'm hoping that the platelet counts are in range tomorrow so I can continue the treatments this week.

Thanks also for the well wishes and extra mojo. I have a gut feeling it will help tomorrow's results.

Good news this morning! The doctor called and told me that the polyps they found were all benign! Woo Hoo! So that means not another one for 5 years! Cool!

Mike, you are still on my prayer list buddy! Keep the faith brother! BTW, how is that G-DEC working out for you? Is it pretty sweet?
