I'm hoping you feel good enough to take your wife out for a fantastic birthday. From what you have written both of you deserve it. As always our possitive thoughts and prayers are with you both.

Hi Mike, I used to bounce back after a few days, especially at the beginning. Have a great weekend celebrating your wife's birthday! :D

Thanks again. We grabbed something to eat last night then came home. She understands that it just takes a little more time to feel good enough to plan anything really special.

I ordered a draft beer and had to let it sit for about 15 minutes before I could even drink it. I'm hoping that by the beginning of the week I'll be back to enjoying "iced" coffee. 8)

I'm starting to gather some tunes for my next chemo cycle and I've found some good inspirational ones :

The Long And Winding Road, The Beatles
Don't Stop Believin', Journey
Live Like You Were Dying, Tim McGraw
It's a Great Day to be Alive, Travis Tritt
Better, Lauren McCuistion
Healing Rain, Michael W. Smith
Fix You, Coldplay
I'll Stand By You, The Pretenders
Times like These, Jack Johnson
3X5, John Mayer
Everything is Alright, Motion City Soundtrack
Unwritten, Natasha Bedingfield
Believe, Brooks and Dunn
Unsinkable Ships, Joe Nichols
In My Life, The Beatles
Everyday I Have The Blues, B.B.King

If anyone has any other good suggestions, feel free to post 'em.

[quote="strat58cat"]Hi Zod,

As I sit here right now, my career is very different than I thought it would be. Everything hurts with extreme and painful fatigue that's called fibromyalgia.

You have no idea how long it took for the 'establishment' ( and that means some quarters in medicine and the health care benefits 'industry' in particular, to recognize that as a true disease entity in the area of chronic pain.

Doc  :x

FYI:

The drug spoken of as being Rx'd for rheumatoid arthritis is methotrexate, in far lower doses than used for cancer.

It is a lovely day here on Long Island. My wish is that those of you who find yourselves a tad bit under the radar take and find some ease on this Sunday.

With my 20 hour days, it takes me all of Saturday to reboot, and I try not to think of anything related to my Monday-Friday at this time.

This world-wide connection of common interest is most therapeutic in that regard.

Doc

Thanks again for the positive comments, suggestions, well wishes and generally uplifting vibe!

I'm on week two of my second cycle of chemotherapy and will have bloodwork and an exam this week.

The chemo drugs still seem to be hitting me hard and some of the side effects can be tough to handle but I'm learning to tolerate them the best ways that I can.

Some days are better than others, but I've learned to enjoy the "better" days as much as possible and just deal with the not so good days
with the hope that I will beat this disease.

I know that each cycle is going to get a little tougher and will take longer to bounce back, but I remain positive in my thoughts.

It really touches me that everyone here is so close and caring for each other!

Mike, like everyone has said, just hang in there and you'll be good in no time! ALWAYS have positive thoughts, for i believe that the mind is the greatest healer of all.

Happy thoughts,

I don't know you, but I'll be praying for you. God knows each and ever one of us. And He is still in business.

I'll leave you with this thought.
I was given 2 years maximum to live by some doctors.
That was a little over 4 years ago. And I'm still here. And still play guitar almost every day.

Never give up and never quit believing. :D (two thumbs up)
May healing and recovery come your way.
