Received some unfortunate news from Chet Feathers (CAFeathers) a bit earlier, and Chet gave me his blessing to go ahead and share it here:

I have not been around much because I have been in and out of the hospital. I have an infection that has made me very ill. It has nothing to do with my recent surgery, but was probably aggravated by it. They have no idea what caused it or why. Currently I have a drain inserted in my upper abdomen to try to get rid of the fluid from an abcess that formed. I will probably be going back to the hospital today or tomorrow.

Chet, as I told you offline: absolutely the best wishes toward a speedy recovery and you'll be in our thoughts. I know computer activity is obviously not a priority what with all of the above going on, but please keep us updated as best you can!

Here's an update just received from Chet on Sunday afternoon:

I did end up getting admitted to the hospital shortly after I emailed you. The abcess is gone, but the infection is not and I had an allergic reaction to the anti-biotics that they put me on. The combination made me extremely ill. They got me off those meds and put me on something else and kept me in the hospital until they were sure I was OK with them. I got home a couple of hours ago and feel OK. I'm still a little tired and not quite up to my normal, but well enough to be home for now. Hopefully I'm on the right track now.

Thanks for the update, Chet, and very glad to hear you're feeling better!

Thanks for the update, Brad. I also got a short note from Chet yesterday and I'll be giving him a call a little later today after I go for bloodwork.

Best wishes with the change in meds, Chet!

Chet, hang in there buddy! We are all praying for you and pulling for you! I am glad to know that you are feeling a little better and at least you are at home!

Miami Mike, you too! You are still in my prayers as well.

Lets pray for Chet. The boards wouldn't quite be the same without him.

Might be a wild idea and if it is just forget it but, could we decide on a date and specific hour where we would all plug our guitars crank up the amp and play some tune for Chet and Miami Mike? Not a complex out of control thing but just a cool suggestion.

Cheers.

P.S. No matter how this turns out I'll do it anyway. My way of showing support to Chet and Mike. Get well soon guys.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate it.

Maybe now that we know there were some things that needed to be done and got them done I can start to actually recover from all of this.
