Pioneering Aviator, Astronaut and U.S. Senator John Glenn dead at 95 of Cancer.

Glenn became a national hero in 1962 when he became the first American to orbit the Earth.

Also set a coast-to-coast speed record travelling faster than a bullet for the length of the Flight in a stripped down F-8 Crusader.

Glenn was also the only one of the original 7 Mercury Astronauts to fly again in the Shuttle making him the oldest man to ever fly in Space.

cheers!

Then he pissed that all away when he hitched his wagon to Charles Keating and the other conspirators of the "Keating Five" in the late '80s, bilking thousands of retirees out of their life savings.

He's no hero.

His launch was a day before my tenth Birthday. We were in school, and they had us all go into the cafeteria to watch the launch on TV. That was really something. God's Speed John Glenn. RIP Marine

After a lengthy investigation, the Senate Ethics Committee determined in 1991 that Cranston, DeConcini, and Riegle had substantially and improperly interfered with the FHLBB's investigation of Lincoln Savings, with Cranston receiving a formal reprimand. Senators Glenn and McCain were cleared of having acted improperly but were criticized for having exercised "poor judgment".
RIP
John Glenn

When's the last time the US Senate's "good ole boy" network hanged one of their own when he was caught in with his hand in the cookie jar?

Never.

That lying, thieving bastard Glenn deserved prison for such "poor judgment".

What band did he play in apart from The Mercury Seven?

Oh believe me I am not saying wasn't guilty, just saying the outcome, but the "good ole boy" network more than likely had something to do with the outcome. I also think during Trump's last night's rally when he was giving praise to Senator Glen someone in the crowd shouted out Keating Five
