From Greg Lake's facebook timeline this morning: "Yesterday, December 7th, I lost my best friend to a long and stubborn battle with cancer. Greg Lake will stay in my heart forever, as he has always been. His family would be grateful for privacy during this time of their grief. Many thanks, Stewart Young"

That's a genuine tragedy, a great loss to all.

What a gifted and visionary artist he was.

:(

RIP, Greg

Rest, Mr. Lake.
Your contribution in my life may have been small but it was indeed very memorable in the best sort of way.
Rest knowing you've left a wonderful legacy.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Oh so sad :( . He was one of the greats, I am blessed with the memory of having seen and worked with him during the Emerson, Lake & Powell tour of 1985.
Now all deceased :(
Keith Emerson – keyboards (1985-1986, died 2016)
Greg Lake – bass, guitar, vocals, production (1985-1986, died 2016)
Cozy Powell – drums, percussion (1985-1986, died 1998)

I had just read an interview with him in the last issue of Bass Player magazine. RIP, Greg. :(
