Are all the parts the same, just assembled across the border from Cali?
Does MIM mean lower quality, or just assembled by different hands?
So is a MIM Precision going to be as nice as a MUSA Precision? If not, why?

You always got for what you pay. Parts are nor the same.

Are you talking about 20016 gear, MIM and MIUSA change over years.
MIUSA have a better resale value.

The term used is generally US or MIA, not MUSA.

Some parts are the same and are shipped across the border - the two plants are not all that far apart. Some parts (especially pickups and bridges) differ.
The routing/CNC machines are different, so it's easy to tell the bodies apart based on the routing holes.

The factory workers in the US factory are mostly Mexican too, and the build quality is not much worse for MIM models. Quality Control might be a bit stricter for US models. I've always had to spend more time on tightening screws and doing setup work on MIM models, but once done, playability doesn't differ much at all.

I have both, and my goto-guitar is a MIM with upgraded pickups. For me, it plays as well as the US made ones, and has one big advantage: it's much cheaper, so I don't worry as much about it, but pick it up and play.
A good MIM Fender is certainly nothing to be ashamed of.

Do A/B test and you'll see.

Agreed with the above -- you do get what you pay for. That being said, the MIMs are still great guitars (as are the higher end Squiers). I guess they should be considering a MIM Standard is now $600. I remember not too many years ago (or so it seems) that they were $400. I must be getting old..
